Works really making me tired these past couple of days and it's really hard to put in volume and play good poker when you're knackered! Walking around for hours on end will take its toll in the end haha ♦

Todays graph not looking so nice at all =( As long as the green (Or orange in this case) is going up thats all that matters i guess Alot of sloppy play today though which sucks balls!

On another note, found out that Linkin Park are playing Hybrid Theory in full at Download Festival next year. Fuckin YEP!! Never been to Download before, not really my thing but gotta try everything once and this is the perfect opportunity! Anyone been before and know what its like?? Hybrid Theory is such a sick album its gonna be ridiculous! ♦

Whats up guys!

There was a slight change to how BrokeSoBroke wants to work with me which is gonna be better for all involved in the long run, so it looks like me ZhiCheng and BrokeSoBroke will be working together intensively for the coming month ♦ With this in mind we decided i should move up to NL50 and i had a session there for the first time today and run like the little baby jesus himself

People were also kind in donating all their chips aswell which never goes a miss!

Hey!

Not had time to update recently as work is a killer and trying to put as much work on my game and hands in as possible, things haven't gone too well since having my sick heater on sunday, definitely alot of spots i need to be thinking about more in real time and making better decisions and also tweaking certain bits and bobs is putting me in different spots so not knowing how to react aswell. Get there in the end though one hand at a time!

Had a really good session with BsB & Zhi and starting to think alot better about hand ranges and planning hands out away from the tables, its just bringing that mindset into live play. Practice makes perfect though!

So not so great but pretty happy with my mindset and things improving little by little still running at 10EVbb/100 overall so although it looks like a disaster things are still pretty good ♦

Yo!

What a bloody horrible week. Got coolered a few times then a cloud of tilt descended over my thought process and i turned into a brainded zombie clicking spacker! Ended up spewing off Loads, ended up being 11Bi down at one point!

Took the night off and went to the pub yesterday and a little break has done just the trick. Back to thinking and enjoying playing again instead of being a degen Thought i'd try something different and wrote myself some notes and stuck them on the wall behind my monitors as little reminders, What doesn't kill you makes you stronger ey?!

Thinking about buying the gold star customisable T-shirt from the pokerstars lobby too has anyone else bought it, is it well made?

and in other news Sacha Baron Cohen is naming his new film after where i live, was reading some comments from people about it and this one is hilarious!

Can't wait to get printing some real money and get out of this hell hole!

Heyo whats up guys!

Not had much chance to update again but squeezing one in before i start the grind today. Been having a surge of form and getting back to winning ways since sunday except yesterday when i was absolutely exhausted and found myself button clicking making idiot plays and callls so just called it off as soon as i noticed and went to bed at 1800 ... Fish!

Really happy with my overall progress considerin i'm working 40 hours a week and i've managed to put in like 45 hours since 1st December, switched over to zoom flawlessly and got back to playing NL50 ... Mini brag. my hourly on poker is better than my hourly at work .... RL fish!

Really wanna start crushing life next year too and make something of myself and achieve everything i want to so i'm going to buy myself a kindle reader, using my phone is tilt inducing when the screens completely F**Ked and its £200 to get it repaired

Going to buy the 5 books schnitzelfisch recommended in one of his emails and really get to grips and on top of everything in preparation for next year. Can't wait to get christmas out the way so work can get back to normal and i can get a proper routine going!

Been abit of a crazy week poker wise as per, it's asif i wake up with the intention of creating the alps using hold'em manager, what a donk!

Had a really good session with BsB today though and the light at the end of the tunnel has just got brighter ten fold. I made a mistake preflop and he luckily had a hand that he played today at NL200 and for the hand to pan out how it did and for him to be able to explain everything from every angle was brilliant. This guy seriously knows his poker!!

Making alot of changes to my game and when i'm doing something bad or bluffing like a retard i learn from it and move forward to the next hand. Feel like i'm starting to get a good thought process on my shoulders and seeing things alot clearly!

As i'm still living with my old lady like the RL fish i am i've just dropped the going pro idea bomb on her for sometime next year and it went alot better than expected so thats put me in quite a good mood!

Haven't quite bought myself a kindle yet but coping with my phone and reading some books and gonna set myself some goals for next year, Primoz said to make them big and exciting and then to break them down so here is a few big and exciting ones

Become a professional Poker Player - Something that can't really be broken down into smaller steps but obviously moving up to NL100 and increasing from 2 to 4 tables are little checkpoints along the way. One thing i could do is after new year get my contract changed so i'm working 3 days instead of 5, will be a good little transition into it, Semi-Pro if you will! (Hopefully it'll work out and i can get it changed!)

Learn to Wingsuit fly - Something i've wanted to do all my life is sky dive and after seeing that Rudimental video i was just absolutely awe-struck. Looks AMAZING! .. Managed to get a few friends interested in doing a skydive today aswell so thats a bonus.

Next step on the list is to pay for http://www.skydiving.co.uk/Accelerated.htm .. £75 deposit, Get christmas out the way then this will be getting sorted!

Visit 3 Countries ... I'd really like to see alot of the world so breaking this down into what countries and for what reasons will make it alot easier. Time to do some research!

Can't wait to crush 2014!

i think becomne a professionla poker player can be broken down into smaller steps very well.
for example you can plan how to get a good work/life balance, how to get your mind off the tables after a bad session, how to concentrate longer and better etc.
also planning what br, how much savings and what limit you want to play when you quit your job.
as you mentioned yourselv there are a lot of small stepping stones which are imo really important.
i just jumped into it without good planning and it came back to bite me.

Really insightful post too putting things into perspective. How did you cope with it coming back to bite you?

I'm counting on getting my contract reduced to a few days a week (hopefully!) so i can start to work out a good playing schedule before diving straight in, hopefully this will make the transition abit easier and planned out.

If there was one piece of advice you could give to someone who was going to make the jump, what would it be?

This will be the easiest transition.

Don't be spending money like you're a Baller like TwiceT. Stick with a strict BRM. And make sure you make your coach some moniez and everything will be alright. ♦

But yeah it's a big transition and you should think about it carefully. Switching to part time work and grind is a great idea and it will make the transition about 10000x easier.

You have to remember if you want to make the switch to go pro... You have to work 2x as harder as you are working now... Simply because you want to benefit to the max when you start making real money...

That's my opinion.

i agree with brokesobroke.

also creatng a motivating envirmonet is important but it seems you are on top of that already.

having a plan b is a good idea because it can take a lot of pressure of your shoulders in a downswing.

i struggled a lot because i had neither of these things. I had my br and my savings and said go. After a while everything started to fall apart and atm i have to work hard to get back on track, but I also had to deal with some family issues.

on the other hand you dont want to overthink it, if it is what you want to do and you are working for it you propably gonna succed and if you hopfully become a semi pro soon you will see how it goes and which problems you run into. maybe you run into none of the problems I had and have way different ones.
For me it was or is a bumpy but fun road. But better make the mistakes and face problems when the stakes are low then when you passed the point of no return.

but imo it takes more, or at least for me, then grinding and beating limit x. That may sound like a downside but I actually think its a hidden bonus. It makes you feel great not only on the tables and you learn a lot you can apply in real life.
