Hmm im not too sure how often this sort of funky line gets paid off. Feels like an overplay to me unless u have reads. I would just bet turn and river myself.

I would prefer betting flop and check calling turn. U can opt to 3barrel instead if u improve on the tjrn. Checkcall flop is certainly a decent option against someone who stabs flop a lot.

Can't I x/c against more passive player with stronger range than me?

Cbet and x/c (once if not improved), where either an overcard and spade is not great for me, maybe it looks obvious for me at first, but get a little bit suspicious what is best play here.
If he would be aggressive and stabs flop a lot, doesnt change much for me in this spot when his range is so tight, maybe the agg one would be able to bet 3 streets with like underpair.

So: Why you would play like that? With big "W'.

i agree with mbml.

If villain bets a lot vs missed cb then its more profitable to x/c. He will bet more when we check than call when we bet, so we should be earning more money.

If he is passive you have to bet. Even though you have TP + FD, on a non-spade A/K/Q (9cards) on the turn will will be really bad for us. So why let him freeroll you on the flop?

In this case we have the FD as well so checking is not that bad, but with no FD, checking flop would be very bad imo.

Btw, since we have JTs he wont have that many better FD only AQs, KQs so dont worry too much about that.

Isnt it a big assumption to make that because we are not repping something he will call us down light?
