Cbet or Cb?

Hi,

i don't think it's a must bet otf, it really depends on your opponent tough. Vs a good player i'm checking behind, as i have a hand i'm not happy calling a c/r here, but i definetly don't want to fold it. Vs bad and passive players i would just bet and have them fold their share of the equity.

It really depens what you are trying achieve, but i can see a check back at least equally good as a bet quite often.

thanks for the quick reply. I think on a QJ4ss board it's way better to check our hand behind, but on this flop I get Overcards to fold with a cbet and don't have to play guessing game for 2 streets. Overcards have quite a good equity against my hand here (unlike on QJ4ss), so I want them to fold immediately. Usually I don't mind b/f with this hand, because even bare nfd is good vs me and even pair + gs, pair + weaker fd has good equity. In addition there are sets / straights, against which we are in very bad shape.

That's my thought process, not sure if you are convinced, but I would even bet against better opponents (surely vs. fish) as long as I have no read that they ch/r 20%+.

overcards often can't call 2 bets, like if you'd bet turn and river. It's always better to have our opponent call us one street and fold the next for example. The point being that with position we don't really mind playing a guessing game as much as OOP. Here we have a decent hand, and i don't want to give up otf.

And vs anyone folding this flop could be a very weak play. After all, what are they repping? That's my biggest issue with betting here. If you want to avoid a guessing game at any cost, than definetly just b/f flop. I think having a decent checkbehind range starts to become quite important if not at plo50, then at plo100.
