BTN: $70.48 (141 bb) After a small sample 14-9, 0% 3bet, and one instance of flop raising cbet IP, before this hand
SB: $34.34 (68.7 bb)
BB: $55 (110 bb)
Hero (UTG): $50 (100 bb)
MP: $47.06 (94.1 bb)
CO: $118.01 (236 bb)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with Q♥ Q♦
Hero raises to $1.50, 2 folds, BTN calls $1.50, SB calls $1.25, BB folds

Flop: ($5) 9♠ 7♣ 5♦ (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $3.25, BTN raises to $9, SB folds, Hero calls $5.75

Turn: ($23) T♣ (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN checks

River: ($23) 8♠ (2 players)
Hero bets $10.25, BTN calls $10.25

His raise OTF didn't make much sense, but since I didn't want to 3bet/fold there, I decided to call ... But river I think is BAD. BUT ! since it was 4-straight board, I didn't want to get bluffed off, cause I really don't wanna x/call there ... So decided to make kinda "disguised" because of its sizing block-bet here ... Cause also I don't really wanna x/fold here since the flop raise seemed too fishy for me ... I don't know ... :f_ugly:

Hi

River is a clear checkfold. He has a ton of 2p and sets and straights.

Flop is probably a betfold. I dont think people are really getting out of line in multiway spots 3way. I would always raise a set here on this coordinated board so im not sure why u think he is not repping anything.

Hm, why would you raise your sets here on the BTN, since the board is NOT that coordinated imo, given it is UTG's and SB's ranges here on the flop ... Which more often than not has overpairs and overcards, rather than connectors, or two pairs ... Or am I missing something here ?

hmm I guess it's not that coordinated compared to a JT8 (only 8 cards kill the action) but still I think people would often raise the Flop with sets.

Certainly you do make a valid point but still I don't think it's right to assume that he never raises sets on the Flop.
