Heh, nah.. Vienna was always better. There were good times in Romania as well and I'm looking forward to my Xmas trip there for a few reasons but Vienna > anywhere in Romania.
I'm going to Vienna for my honeymoon (or my funeral if I wait much longer! ♦ ) so thanks for making it sound really nice!

It's very cheap for what you get imo. It's cheaper than other Western cities like the Swiss ones, Paris, London but you get the same if not even better quality of life. If you want exact number, all I can say is it depends. You can survive alone for like 700EUR/month imo (rent, food, maybe go out as well can't say where since I haven't been to any super cheap club), maybe even cheaper if you get some super rent deal or live in a very bad place. You don't experience Vienna at that price though. 
Damn that is cheap... London is probably similar but GBP instead of EUR. Then you won't be living in that nice a place, or you'll be about 30mins from central on the tube. For cheap nights just sneak in a naggin

I've been in Vienna for a year now. The reason I moved to Vienna was to get involved in the startup scene. That went well enough so that I decided the best line to take is to focus 100% on business.
Poker was never an end goal for me. Ofc, it was fun and I still think I can have fun playing in a game with some friends but then it turn into a way to make money to move out of Romania and basically do some awesome shit. 
It has served that purpose as far as I am concerned.
I still think it's an excellent step on everyone's road. I learned so much it's absolutely ridiculous imo. Living off poker will teach you most of the skills needed in any other area of life imo and definitely sets up a good mindset for business/startups.

All good. I just learn/improve in other things instead of poker. I can give you some other coachings when you turn pro, no problem! ♦ Will make sure you don't spew money on useless things and all that sort of stuff.

Haha! Thanks for reading! I checked my early posts a couple of times too since becoming a coach. That's the nice thing about a blog: You get to see what you were thinking before and how you've improved over time. There's a massive difference between when I was at NL10 and now, both in terms of poker skill but also mindset and vision.
I think you'll enjoy the book if you read it. Let us know what you think about it.

Have you stopped the coaching then? By the way, do you know any coaches at PS who take a percentage of winnings, rather than an hourly rate/lump sum? My roll's ok, but there's no wad's of cash lying around my room unfortunately

I stopped coaching, yes. I don't know of any coach to specific that he takes percentages of winnings. When asked about a coach for NL50 or so and below I generally recommend a former student of mine who is now a coach in the Portuguese community, double2.
Even if he doesn't take winnings sharing deal, he should probably still be on your coach shortlist.
