So I guess it is time for a recap of the month :f_biggrin:

First of all I have a question for you - do you know any sites where I can upload pictures for free so that I can share them on the forum??? It seems that my previous site wants me to pay for it now (upgrade and so on...) Ofc, I wanted to show you my monthly graph :f_biggrin:

As I focused on studying this month and could not play for almost 11 days my volume is not that big... only a little bit about 16k hands. I personally dont think that this is enough as I want to move up in limits as well as improving my game. Therefore, playing more is mandatory I guess

Profitwise it was pretty good and I managed to win a couple of BIs :f_love: I ran way above EV, but as PLO is quite a swingy game I think that this can turn around quite quickly :f_o:

BR: 141,45$

So plans for March:

:spade: play 30k hands
:spade: finish PLO from scratch
:spade: deposit 10 bucks on WH to get Silver Status (Skod's videos and posting hands in the hand evaluation forum)
:spade: become a reg at PLO5
:spade: doing a sweat session with a poker buddy (already did one - was pretty cool to talk about certain spots together :) )

:club: cant't think of more atm, but gonna edit that post if I can think of more :f_p: If you have any suggestions what I could add dont hesitate to tell me!

Here is a video I wanted to share with you. That guy is probably one of the sickest dudes I've ever soon _o: Totally awesome what he is able to do!!!!!

Hi Rains7,
Here is the site that I use to upload images for my blog:

Thanks a lot aent4x

So here is my February graph:

gratis bilder hochladen

Also played 2 sessions today, but did not really make much of a profit because of some coolers and I also misplayed some hands...

Gonna play a 3re session a bit later or, but I do not know for sure as I am a bit tired :f_p:

Today was a special poker day as I played my first session of PLO5 :f_biggrin: Unfortunately, I could not book a win as I did not really run good and had some coolers.

Moreover, I was a bit nervous and did not play my A game... It is a bit irritating to play with more money tbh. I try not to think in terms of $ - just in bb, but sometimes it's not easy :f_p:

I really really love that game and I am pretty excited to play some more sessions tomorrow :f_cool: University starts on wednesday so tomorrow is going to be a grinding day

Been playing for a while today and managed to play a bit more than 2,5k hands :) Probably the most productive poker day in the last couple of months :f_p: It was quite hard during a big part of the 2.5k hands as I just could not win a hand and had to fold quite often... Cards were just not running my way I guess

Here is the graph:

If I look at other PLO graphs and compare them with my own I can see that they are much mcuh steeper. It's not really disappointing, but motivating!!! I really have to improve a lot and have to look for leaks. I guess some of them are:

:spade: not 3 betting enough
:spade: calling with crappy hands
:spade: not betting for value enough

I have somehow to think of a solution to that problem and go through PLO from scratch again and again. Also, I have to get SilverStatus to be able to watch Skod's videos as soon as possible... Did not manage to get some money (I am almost at zero...) from the bank because it seems that I still have to wait for the money for the month :f_mad: Was not there to check today tbh - just played poker :f_biggrin:

Moreover, in PLO from scratch a certain winrate is mentioned which is something like 50bb/100 ( :f_eek: ). The author says that it is achievable at the micros, but I surely cant to that at my skill level. Don't know if this is possible ever for good players over a large sample... What do you say about that???

Anyway, university is going to start tomorrow so I have to get some stuff ready so that I can be bored the whole day tomorrow _grin: Maybe I am going to play a little session later, but I am not so sure as I feel pretty tired atm.

Today was a pretty bad day pokerwise :f_mad:

I lost 6 BI at PLO5 and now I am back down to 150$. Anyway, I did not really have the feeling that I played bad tbh. I mean, I surely made some mistakes, but the cards did not really fall my way in quite a lot of spots. But I guess that's going to happen on more than one days... :f_biggrin:

I lost some pretty big pots and the one that I "won" were split pots so I did not really cover the losses by winning the biggies. It was like NF < Full House, Full House < Quads and so on...

One cool thing is that I hit a Royal - guess I spent all my luckboxing during that hand :f_p:

University also started out again and it was boring as hell. The courses also sounded pretty lame, but I guess it is not going to be that hard to pass them with a positive grade. I have a free day tomorrow and gonna spent it on the mountain snowboarding with some friends and maybe we do some filming to get a small video done :f_love: Really looking forward to that, because the park got is all new -> the shapers did a really good job.

Last weekend even the Olympia Team (Austria) came to join a contest and it was really cool to watch these guys. They are able to do pretty sick tricks at ease and with a lot of style. Tomorrow we gonna hit the park and I hope that we can do 1 or 2 tricks they did :f_biggrin:

Maybe I am going to play a little session a bit later, but I am not really sure if it is that good to play when I do not really know that I am tilt free (did not really have the feeling to tilt, but I am not sure if I really played my A game tbh). Probably it is better to wait for tomorrow to grind again or just move down to PLO2 for some hands just for the sake of playing some good hands :)

For those who like snowboarding - here is a video of one of my favourite riders. He did the best filming of all last year if you ask me -> the ender is just EPIC!!!!! :f_cool:

Been playing quite a lot of hands lately and managed to lose almost 10BI at PLO2 as I dropped down in limits :f_mad:

It seems like that I just cant win the big hands... Hands like AAxxss < AAxxss happened like 3 or 4 times :f_cry: My straights are outdrawn on the river by either a flush or a Full House and I just to fold because I just know that they have it as I am often playing versus people with such a low AF.

I still have that 20$ bonus, but I do not really want to use it, but grind that out and hope to run better in the next sessions so that I can comforatbly play PLO5 again.

It is a bit disappointing to run so bad when I think of that I keep working on my game and try to improve, but I guess that's poker :f_p:

Wish you to run better :f_biggrin:

Time to wrap up the (bad) week.

First I ran really good - managed to ahve a BR of 150$ to shoot at PLO5 and succeeded in the first place...got my BR up to 175$ or so! Then the sad part came and I lost 6 BI due to running bad and not really playing my A game. I dropped down to PLO2 and was pretty annoyed about the fact hat I had to do so _evil:

In fact, I did not really play really concentrated and just wante d to get my roll back to 150$ to be able to play on PLO5 and win some bucks - big mistake :f_mad: Then a really really bad run began and it seems that I just cant win... I dont know why! Maybe it is just a run bad or my mental game -> possibly a combination of both.

Everytime I have a good hand I am outdrawn by the river cause villain's outs hit or I get it in and lose :f_mad: I really dont know what's going on because I lost 8 out of 10 imporatant hands.

I have no idea if it's just the swings in PLO or my game tbh!!! i'd really like to know if I am just playing too aggressively or something - it makes me somehow sad that I try so hard and it just wont work...

Here is the weekly graph:

I am somehow ashamed that my graph looks like this because I guess it's my fault. I was too money orientated and did not really give 100% while playing because of dropping down. I could have lost way less money I had concentrated more on the game and did not always think: "C'mon - I want this pot to play on PLO5" -> that might led to stupid calls and shoving the flop too light (calling with 2nd, 3rd nuts and not folding to a reraise on a really wet flop...)

I am going my best to be better mentally and I will also work a lot on my poker skills!

See you then - good luck at the tables :f_cool:

Another 2 sessions are over and I am pretty pleased that I did not lose more...

Here are the results:

It has been going like these for almost 1 week now and that is pretty harsh for me. I keep reading articles and looking at the hand evaluation part of the forum and really try to improve and these are the results! This is so frustarting because even if you are at PLO2 and it goes like this over the course of several days you lose quite a big part of your BR...

I was able to reach a low in my BR and I am at 104$ now. Peak was 176$ and I managed to lose all that on PLO5 (down to 145$) and the rest on PLO2 - this is so depressing. I could literally cry :rage:

Hopefully I will run better in some time... I still have 20$ bonus that I can use, but I guess I will keep that for worse days (just in case they will come...)

Been grinding a lot today and I am very tired now...

Results could have been better, but it was a winning session overall
As I am not really used to grind that many hands I got sometimes really distracted during the session and should have made a break of 10 minutes or something.

I also had a short discussion with a pokerfriend and he said that a VPIP of 24-25 could be a bit too lose for ZOOM. He said that he is tighter and his winrate is way better than mine so I am thinking of tightening up a bit (around 20ish).

What are your opinions about that?

Moreover, I noticed that poker is constantly in my mind and cause some problematic issues. For example, when I am on the mountain with my friends and we have a good session in our local park it is all good as I am distracted. But as soon as we sit down and I dont talk to anybody I immediatelly have to think about poker and stuff that I did wrong which can give me quite a hard time.

It also makes me question other things in my life like:

"What am I really good at & is it good enough?"

It makes me question things like university (the subjects I am studying), snowboarding and a whole lot of other things. Poker gives me a really hard time now and then, but it can also be motivationg and trigger a boost in ones productivity. I guess it is all about how you and your way of thinking.

Wish you all the best of luck at the tables :)

Did not play that much the last coulple of days so I did not have much to write about. Just been revising PLO from scratch (still the 2 last chapters to go) and hanging out with some friends to try to forget about poker (which wasnt always easy).

Played 1k hands today:

The first big hand was this one:

Poker Stars, $0.01/$0.02 No Limit Omaha Cash, 6 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

BTN: $1.84 (92 bb)
SB: $7 (350 bb)
BB: $2.07 (103.5 bb)
UTG: $2 (100 bb)
Hero (MP): $2.16 (108 bb)
CO: $2.08 (104 bb)

Preflop: Hero is MP with 6 7 8 7
UTG raises to $0.07, Hero calls $0.07, 2 folds, SB calls $0.06, BB calls $0.05

Flop: ($0.28) 6 5 9 (4 players)
SB bets $0.12, BB calls $0.12, UTG folds, Hero calls $0.12

Turn: ($0.64) A (3 players)
SB bets $0.30, BB raises to $0.90, Hero calls $0.90, SB raises to $4.22, BB calls $0.98, Hero calls $1.07 and is all-in

River: ($6.46) 5 (3 players, 1 is all-in)

Results:

Spoiler

$6.46 pot ($0.21 rake)
Final Board: 6 5 9 A 5
SB showed 2 8 T A and won $0.00 (-$2.16 net)
BB mucked T 2 K Q and lost (-$2.07 net)
Hero showed 6 7 8 7 and won $6.25 ($4.09 net)

:f_biggrin:

I guess I am more focused on the game and the revision was good for my game as well. in fact, I do not think "I hope I wont lose" at the beginning of a session anymore :f_p:

Hope it will go on like this :f_biggrin:

I am still on track for my goals and hope Iwill be able to achiev all of them at the end of the month :)

I am silver member now too, but I have to think about what hands I post on the forum for evaluation as I think there are restrictions now :f_cry:

Hey there

Played like 2k hands since my OM2 stopped working so I have no graphs to show you. Have already posted in the Poker Tools forum and I am waiting for an answer :) Hope that I do not have to uninstall OM2 (thinking about that) because all my data would be lost I guess.

So on case of the worst case scenario I am going to post my monthly graph up to the moment it stopped working to show you my (poor :f_mad: ) results for that month.

Also looking for tomorrow as we are going snowboarding and the park got a new set up. As I do not have a graph to post i thought of posting one of the sequences of this season

This was the first shot of the session so it is not that good :f_p:
Maybe we're gonna do some more shots tomorrow and in case OM2 is not going to work I may post some other snowboard stuff.

Some poker related stuff:

VPP for this month: 432.59
Hands for this month: ~22k hands

Bankroll: 116.75$

Last couple of sessions were really awful, but it's going upwards. As mentioned in previous posts it was a combination of bad mindset, tilt and not running good. I dropped way too much money (bankroll peak was 176$ and I droppe down to PLO2 when I was at 140$ or so...). I dropped too many BI at PLO2 as a result of feeling annoyed / bored to have to play PLO2 again... + bad run of cards = good way to minimize BR :f_p:

That's it for today. Hope OM2 is gonna work soon :f_grin:

*edit: OM2 works again, wuhu :)

Long time no update but here we go again:

Did not have much time to play poker because of university. I still had to finish some papers (still some left  ) and went snowboarding 2 times this weekend. I did not really want to play on Sunday because of Saturday night - we went out and I had a nasty hangover :f_biggrin:

These are the results of last week:

Volumwise it was really poor - this week has to be better (almost is :f_biggrin: )

I still need some hands to reach the 30k hands mark, but I guess that it will not be that much of a problem to reach that. That given, it should be also quite doable to play more than 30k (around 40k maybe ?( ) - so it's probably gonna be a challenge for next month :f_biggrin:

Moreover, I did reach a monthly goal today and became SilverStar on stars :f_biggrin:

So gonna update in some time again as I dont want to bore you with daily results and atm I dont really know what to post _confused:

Maybe just a song that I am listening to while playing poker:

hehe yes gonna give it all i got

So I really played a lot of hands today and I am totally exhausted now. Here are the results:

I am not really used to play somany hands and I guess it was not the best idea in the world to play ~2.5k hands in a single session. After something like 2k hands I lost track of my own game and was just sitting there and staring at the screen like: look at all those cards :f_eek: Was not playing my A game a lot cause it took me quite some time to play so many hands.

Probably it is also a problem to concentrate so long because of my bad nutrition. Gonna have to change that and set it up as a goal for April :f_p: So still some days left to eat pizza :f_biggrin: I also want to took the whole concentration issue up in Jared Tendler's book and think about a plan how I can reach a certain level of "concentration power" :) Like a friend of mine would say: I play Xbox 10 hours a day for increasing brain speed

There were also some akward spots during the sessions where I did not really know what to do. Partly because of concentration problems and partly because of bad play / lack of PLO power :f_biggrin:

Want to show you some hands:

Villain was a really sick maniac - so I should have bet the flop bigger, right? Did not really know what to do on the turn because I was a bit tilted because of him.

Stats: 80/57 / 3.bet 36.8 / WTSD 50 / AF 30 after 52 hands

1)

Poker Stars, $0.01/$0.02 No Limit Omaha Cash, 6 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

BTN: $2 (100 bb)
SB: $3.57 (178.5 bb)
BB: $2.30 (115 bb)
Hero (UTG): $3.41 (170.5 bb)
MP: $7.15 (357.5 bb)
CO: $6.58 (329 bb)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with J K Q 9
Hero raises to $0.07, 3 folds, SB calls $0.06, BB raises to $0.28, Hero calls $0.21, SB folds

Flop: ($0.63) J K 8 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $0.30, BB calls $0.30

Turn: ($1.23) T (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $1.19, BB raises to $1.72 and is all-in, Hero calls $0.53

River: ($4.67) 3 (2 players, 1 is all-in)

Results:

Spoiler

$4.67 pot ($0.15 rake)
Final Board: J K 8 T 3
BB showed A 9 A Q and won $4.52 ($2.22 net)
Hero mucked J K Q 9 and lost (-$2.30 net)

2)

Same villain. Did not really know what to do so I jammed :f_biggrin:
I mean I really dont know what I can put him on as he has such a winde range. Probably just wait for better spots...

Poker Stars, $0.01/$0.02 No Limit Omaha Cash, 6 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

BTN: $0.45 (22.5 bb)
SB: $3.62 (181 bb)
BB: $2.53 (126.5 bb)
UTG: $1.97 (98.5 bb)
MP: $3.82 (191 bb)
Hero (CO): $2 (100 bb)

Preflop: Hero is CO with K K 5 9
2 folds, Hero raises to $0.07, 2 folds, BB raises to $0.22, Hero calls $0.15

Flop: ($0.45) 7 J Q (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $0.22, BB raises to $1.10, Hero raises to $1.78 and is all-in, BB calls $0.68

Turn: ($4.01) 5 (2 players, 1 is all-in)
River: ($4.01) Q (2 players, 1 is all-in)

Results:

Spoiler

$4.01 pot ($0.13 rake)

Hero mucked K K 5 9 and lost (-$2 net)

Today was a pretty harsh session :f_biggrin:

:rage: :rage: :rage: :rage: :rage:

Played like 1,7k before that session and ended up winning something around
1 BI or something... PLO is not treating me kind at the moment.

Anyway, I am a bit proud of myself that I did not start to lose control over my game and just kept playing the way I think is best. I mean, I did get angry sometimes, but I kept calm in the long run :)

I am not freaking out or anything but it is somekind of disappointing when you really try and try and it seems that you just cant win. In contrast, other days are sooo much better...yeah in fact that's poker.... but I am really hoping that the poker gods will let me see some light at the end of the tunnel

Hopefully things will turn around soon and i can (finally ;( ) get back to PLO5 :f_biggrin:

So enough about the whining. Dont know if I will be playing that much the next few days because me girlfriend is here and she is a massive distraction from playing :f_p: On Saturday there also is a big snowboard contest and I am really looking forward to that. The afterparty is legendary  So I guess the only time to play is tomorrow cause she will not be around till afternoon. Hope to run better then and crush them!

Whad up?

Thought that I can do my monthly recap now / set some goals for April

As I am at university and bored as hell I have time enough to think about some new stuff for April, but first start with March recap :f_biggrin:

Goals were:

So plans for March:

:spade: play 30k hands
:spade: finish PLO from scratch
:spade: deposit 10 bucks on WH to get Silver Status (Skod's videos and posting hands in the hand evaluation forum)
:spade: become a reg at PLO5
:spade: doing a sweat session with a poker buddy (already did one - was pretty cool to talk about certain spots together )

I did not post any hands in the evaluation forum yet. because I analysed it together with a friend who told me his thoughts on the hands. As he is a verya good player I think it's also fine, but definatelly gonna post some this month :)

I had quite a hard time on PLO5 (mixture of playing bad / running bad / little bit tilt) and so managed to drop down to PLO2 again where I hit a pretty brutal downswing / sometimes played my D game. EV wise I am like 10+BI under EV, but that's poker. Gonne revocer from that and hit the table at PLO5 again to crush the guys there :f_biggrin:

Unforutnately, I cannot post a graph atm as I am not writing with my own lap top - so no OM2. Will post it when I am at home :)

*edit: here is the poor line ;(

Goals for April:

:spade: play 40k hands
:spade: maintain silver status at pokerstrategy
:spade: become a PLO5 reg
:spade: revise PLO from scratch (certain parts in particular)
:spade: start reading Advanced PLO Vol. 1 by Jeff Hwang (as recommended in PLO from scratch) -> already bought it
:spade: do more analysis of my own game (mark more hands)
:spade: watch all of Skod's videos
:spade: eat healtier!!!
:spade: spend 1 hour everyday with uni stuff (!!!)
:spade: make a snowboard edit with some friends as the season will be over soon
:spade: study more PLO
:spade: party less / play & study more poker
:spade: update my blog frequently with results / some life stuff maybe ?(

So these are the goals I can think of atm. I really have to step up my game as I think that I am doing too many mistakes -> can already think of some. Hopefully I will also be able to hit the 40k hands mark which would lead to maintaining silver at stars :) Last :spade: will also be quite hard I guess as my life is not really thrilling :f_biggrin:
I will come up with some more stuff when I can think of something and add it to this list (in new posts).

Wish you all a great month $$$ wish - let's crush

Hey there - long time no see.

I have not been playing much poker lately because of some life stuff. My girlfriend is in town (normaly she lives in Vienna) and so I spent almost all day with her when I was not at university. I have only played aournd 1k hands up to now and was also distracted during those 2 sessions which cause me to lose around 8 dollars :f_mad:

Luckily, I have time enough to study poker / watch videos during the breaks at university. I did not forget about that at least and have been trying to learn a lot about floats which is quite a complicated thing to do as it seems (need more practice!!!).

Good thing is that the easter break is coming -> next monday the bunny will hop to town and hopefully bring me some time to grind :) and some $$$ of course We will have a break of two weeks and I will have surely have a lot of time to grind to reach the 40k hand mark this month. Really looking forward to get back to the tables :f_biggrin:
