Hi sketso,

In the KK hand it's a definite check fold. Bet calling is bad. Not too many worse hands will bet that river.

In the 55 hand. Your line doesn't make sense. What are you trying to represent?

Yes I agree the KK hand was misplayed.

In the 55 hand once he doesn't cbet the flop I dont put him on an ace. When he bets the turn small I put him on a weak ace which would fold if I show some aggression.

Stop assuming others will play exactly like you. Also you can't put people on rigid ranges or exclude hands from people's ranges with so little evidence.

And FWIW his line is perfectly solid and not-cbetting isn't very tricky or anything.

Also I'll keep putting up hands everyday in the Hand evaluation forum. Comment on all the 'Hand for the day' hands and improve your evaluation skills.

Hand with 22 is pretty bad.

Checking the second time is terrible when you want to make the pot big.

Also check/raising is very transparent. I understand you don't want to scare him off, but unfortunately you can't win a big pot without getting lots of money in the pot, and you can't do that without making it clear you have something.

Also c/r looks much more scary then a simple lead out, so lead that turn. In this case it didn't matter but what's worse is the way you played this hand very few worse hands will want to get in all that much money.

Talking about x/r and leading I still find myself torn between how to pick one and wanna your thought process in these spots.

You flop a set, should you x/r or lead?

In the 22 hand my flop plan would be to x/c since I don't really need to protect at the moment and I expect a cbet on that board and my lead or x/r would look very strong there.

Say the flop was 2 :club:, J :diamond:, T and you are heads up on the flop

x/r or lead? The flop does hit his range that he'll want to move in with or atleast see the turn with for example hands like TT+, KQ, A :diamond:K :diamond:- A :diamond:J other A :diamond:x :diamond:, some K :diamond:x :diamond:, JT etc.

Against purely this range I guess it might not matter much if you x/r or lead since money is most likely moving in on the flop.

AJ, AT type hands and KQo might have a hard time against x/r so is leading better against his whole overall range?

How do you guys decide and whats your thought process before deciding if you want to x/r or lead?

I see a lot of people do this at micros, with AA and sometimes KK they 4bet properly to a 25bb type size and jam with AK, QQ etc. cause they don't want to be called and have a tough decision on the flop.

Its a definite leak cause leaves no room for 4bet bluffing cause these people almost never 4bet bluff and if they are jamming their 4bet bluffs then thats another story.

Hey, that was not a 4bet. That was a 5bet. Once he 4bets into me and I 5bet , he is almost never calling the 5bet. Its a jam or fold.So the money gets in either way.

ALso I 4bet bluff only blind vs blind and 5bet shove as a bluff very rarely.

Fold pre. Playing these are -EV unless you plan on playing them tricky. Also as you can see you'll end up in situations where you're dominated by higher flushes. That being said, the river is still a pretty easy fold here. Shouldn't have called.

Hand 2

Why not bet river? I'm never scared to bet here. If he raises I'll mostly fold since regs at these stakes don't ever bluff raise river. Depends a lot on his stats though.

In general my plan would be to try to get as much as I can on the river by either check calling or betting. If we're checking we have to call here. He can easily have a queen or a missed straight draw.

Well that's really not the best line cause of a simple reason.

Almost no hand that you beat on the turn will bet the river. KJ won't turn his hand into a bluff. Maybe KT would be the only hand. Check folding river would be the right play.
