So I was playing 5/Tc 8 tabling just to get in the groove again . so i took it extreme and did 8 table . normally i do 4 table at 25/50c but tonight just wanted to chill and i actually came upon and interesting hand I wasn't really sure what to do even though it was only 5/Tc this player kind of intrigued me

Poker Stars, $0.05/$0.10 Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

Preflop: Hero is BTN with Q K
UTG raises, 2 folds, Hero 3-bets, SB folds, BB calls, UTG caps, Hero calls, BB calls

Flop: (12.4 SB) T 5 7 (3 players)
BB checks, UTG bets, Hero calls, BB folds

Turn: (7.2 BB) K (2 players)
UTG bets, Hero calls

River: (9.2 BB) 6 (2 players)
UTG bets, Hero calls

Results: 11.2 BB pot (0.4 BB rake)
Final Board: T 5 7 K 6
Hero showed Q K

UTG 26/3/2,7/305hands

I have seen him open limp a lot of times with semi strong hands up to AQ and up to QQ

due to that I felt the cap could only mean something like AA or KK (less likely due to me having K of hearts.)

I hadn't seen him bet bet bet all night . Usually he gave up with even TP on the river against 2+ , I had been owning him HU on 5 different tables everytime we got HU.

was I giving him too much credit or me just being too passive being back from my month long break ?

I'd say that versus such a guy, the calling line is a nobrainer. A raise will cost you 3BB on the turn if he - as has been usual - has the AA/KK here.

Even if he (not very likely) has switched gears completely, you lose only a tiny tiny fraction - at most - of 1BB by not raising, because. AA/KK/AK/TT, and perhaps KQs for a split, would still be in his range. He is after all capping from the UTG. Don't mess around with such caps.

(Then, the fact that you posted hints to me that he had turned into a maniac this hand. I wouldn't expect that to happen on average.)

I think its played as it should, he might have KQ JJ or AQ or random spazz and that makes up for it i think. Even if his range is TT+ and AK you still have 33% eq. and imo any bad player can spazz randomly, so there should always be a % or their range thats something you didnt expekt. Played against people with like 12/3/0 stats for over 100 hands and see them openraise something like K3 playing it as it was AA, so when a bad player raises you kinda have to have that one in mind aswell, the spazz-part-of-the-range :f_grin:

I think you can fold this pre-flop. Against these tiny openers, your 3bet range has to get pretty tight, AJs+ is what I've been told in the past. I know the hand is suited, but your most likely dominated and has this history shows you just become a calling station when you flop a pair.

you would have to strain me to a chair and cut off my arms and legs before I ever fold or do anything other than 3bet with KQs on these limits.

and in fact because these guys are so uber retarded you can have your 3betting range absurdly high without ever going into the red .. simply because opponents ranges are so weak , like I frequently 3bet something like K7s K8s . these guys raise with realy anything. I flop a King and i win the pot 96% of the time vs their A high call downs or bottom pair call downs. I even saw a guy call with 8 high claiming he thought i was bluffing.

Granted I don't know .05/.1 limit but hud can't be lying with a 350 hands. So I would apply a read against this villain, if some else is a 55/50 then you can 3bet forever. KQs would be a 3bet against most other position, and a good reg UTG it can be a 3bet most of the time as a reg can easily open 18% and you have position and 48% equity. However K8s will get killed with only 38% equity.
