AK NL2 Zoom - BvB

What do you think about calling and play postflop? I mean he could certantly have hands like AQo AQs AJs AJo ATs in his 3b range maybe even hands like KQ KJ. If villian looks super tight I would call and play postflop.

Ye I would defenlty call to play postflop. I think he will still call to much so we will still win money in the long run.

You don't need to worry about that.

Second, why direct shove? I don't see any information to indicate that I want to 4-bet all in. And folding preflop based on 36 hands would be quite nitty/wrong imo.

So I'd 4-bet normal and go from there.

Shoving makes the decision easy, but that doesn't mean it's the highest EV. Shoving will often fold out hands like QJ which are very likely to call smaller 4bets of 50-60 cents. You definitely want to keep worse hands in. You would then be committed into calling a 5b shove anyway if he jams, but the point is that you gain more if he calls wide.

Maybe you don't like playing in 4b pots when you miss the Flop, but even a strategy of auto-cbetting 40% of the pot on 100% of flops after making a small 2.5-3X 4bet preflop is better than direct jamming.

This. Plus I think that the vast majority of players that play these limits don't like to fold so that was my thinking at the time. But I do agree with what you're saying. I feel like I end up spewing when I play 4b pots postflop when I am ace high or something, because I feel that when someone flats a 4b that they are either:

a good reg that thinks we 4b him too wide or 4b/fold often so flas to keep our dominated range in the hand

or

passive / weak tight players who don't want to stack off and just " want to see what the flop brings "

Without good reads on my opponent I tend to assume they have something like QQ+ AK here (maybe JJ)

With regards to playing in 4b pots I will try to c-bet around 40% where it makes sense and see if this has an impact on how I play these spots. I will follow Weasels new video series which hopefully might address this problem for me.
