I've just come back from the School Easter Egg Hunt with my daughter and, for various reasons, feel the urge to blog. I don't know what it is about parents and school events, but I find it almost impossible to be all friendly with the other parents, and struggle with the whole small talk thing in a way that I rarely do in any other social situation. Maybe getting FUCK and OFF! tattooed across my knuckles when I was teenager, Night of The Hunter style, wasn't the fantastic idea that I thought it was. I may have to try turning the O into a smiley face or the ! into a ?
.

Perhaps, instead of the tattoos, you could have gone for these rings?. Just slip them on for that special occasion

Those are OK, but you really need them as a mirror image so that they still say FUCK OFF when they've been embedded in someone's face at high speed.

REVERSE image rings are offered for just that possibility. To quote...

The Statement ring!
Tired of traffic, tired of midgets and New Zealanders? .

Do you need some special finger vocabulary to add impact to your gestural finger motions from your bike or maybe from your car window?

Look no further!!!
A simple statement of fact, to be worn together on one finger, or next to each other, and dependant on the situation you may want to leave a "lasting impression" on someone, or your personal STAMP of dissaproval.. we offer a REVERSE version to cater for this need, so the person being brought to a better understanding will be able to read it properly everytime they look in the mirror.. a meaningfull memory...

...(PS. you do not have to be a biker or nuthouse car driver to wear this, you can also be mentally unstable or even work in the post office.. there are many reasons you could enjoy this piece of statement jewellery...)

Off to Scotland for a week tomorrow. We're going back to the lighthouse that we went to three years ago. Was it really three years ago? :f_eek: Crikey. Lol @ my musings on Black Friday and my nice $300 bonus from F T. What a sucker!

I haven't posted for a while, so I thought I'd write a little bit.

The holiday in Scotland was great. The weather was nice and I got to spend a lot of time sitting on the edge of cliffs looking at the great view out across the bay whilst listening to Animals As Leaders somewhat obsessively. Hardly appropriate for the setting, but what can you do? I've also become rather attached to the Reign of Kindo. God knows why. They're really not my cup of tea.

I've been playing a bit of Zoom NL25 on and off. I go up, I go down, I go up, I go down. Must focus.

MTT night last night. I've given up on large field MTTs. I just start falling asleep when I ought to be concentrating harder, so I only play the 180 man SnGs.

I don't think I've ever made one of these before, although I could be wrong. AI pre makes it a bit of a waste, but whatever.

Here's a hand.

Nh wp chaps. :f_biggrin:

I ended up 14th in that one, but I final tabled another, and had 40% of the chips with 5 left......then finished 4th. Like a bo$$!

I'm planning to write something next week for http://www.freerollmedia.com/ on variance. They have a deal with our publishers, D & B, and the book was advertised in the latest issue. It's aimed at US card rooms, so it's an interesting exercise in writing for your audience.

I finished an article on the three player [0,1] game for our website, but I can't post it until my project student submits his dissertation. Can't have him copying the answers off the internet can we? I'm going to see whether it's feasible to do the three player [0,1] game with check-raising using the same methods. I'm not sure my brain is quite big enough, but we shall see.

I'm off to see the Lego Movie with the kids this afternoon. I hope it's not too terrible. Byeeee! :]

I didn't like the Lego Movie. All the bright colours and stuff whizzing around made my eyes hurt. I fell asleep three times after my late night. I am so old. However, I did come out of the cinema singing...

The kids really enjoyed it, but took a strange and inexplicable dislike to my singing.

Last chess match of the season tonight. I was playing the old bloke who usually smells like damp dog. He seemed clean tonight, and was nice enough to donate a pawn for nothing.

My plan was to play my knight to b6 then c4 and, since he wasn't seeing any tactics at all, it seemed like a good idea to give him the chance to go wrong, which he did...28. Kf1? Nxc3! Cheap and nasty, but it did the job.

Before the match we could theoretically have either finished 2nd or been relegated, it was that close.

Looks like we ended up getting third (maybe even second if the last match goes our way). Well done us, although I only managed 5/12, which is pretty crappy. :f_mad: Next year......

I've also now produced two of the three short articles that I said I'd write. Hopefully I'll get the third one done tomorrow.

I've finally lost my patience with HEM2. It just repeatedly fails to connect to postgres, and the solution is....

http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/91/Can%27t+Connect+%7B47%7D+Failed+to+Start+PostgreSQL+

Just fuck off. Do I look like a computer administrator?

Don't answer that. No, the solution is PT4. At least I hope so, as I'm going to try switching back to it today.

I couldn't get HEM2 started at all last night, and I'm not Zooming without a HUD, so I played 8game on my PC and chess on my iPad. :f_thumbsup: I made some $$ even though at one point I enthusiastically value bet A2346xx thinking I was playing Razz....it was Stud Hi .

And finally, the new Animals As Leaders album is fantastic. I've never heard anything quite like them.

Hello jb I miss you

Anyway drop hm support a few mails and if they can't solve it within 2-3 emails they set up a TeamViewer session which I found really helpful.

Only if I can't get PT4 to work. I have fallen out of love with HEM2. Our relationship is irreparably broken and dysfunctional.

Now that I've recovered from my epileptic seizure, I'm pleased to say that my article on 'GTO' in multiplayer games is available at

http://www.modernpokereducation.com/preview/bonus_maths_5.pdf

Any feedback gratefully received.

Tried PT4 last night. That couldn't connect to postgres either. The ever helpful Vorpal said he could fix it for me. I let him have TeamViewer access to my laptop and, in between loading it up with trojans and grabbing my credit card details, he was unable to fix it. I take this as a fair reflection of how completely fucked up my laptop has become. I reinstalled postgres. HEM2 couldn't create a new database for me. PT4 could, and loaded up this year's hands in a few minutes. I just need to finish off my HUD this lunchtime and I should be OK to play tonight. R.I.P. HEM2.

I found that the better alternative as well, to reinstall.
Uninstall/reinstall seems to have become a way of life in recent times.

Nice gif Emanuel, damn that's loud!

Mmmmmmmmm. PokerTracker. Silky smooth. Lightening fast. Starts up quickly. Closes down quickly. Doesn't make my laptop sound like a 747 taxiing along the runway. I think I'm in luuuurv..... :f_love:

I have one of the best hardware for my desktop and hm2 still lags here and there... If pt4 lives up to the promise then go for it!

Try this link:
Three Cards are Enough

The link in your post went to the main page -- and the top article was a tldr; on shortstacking.

When I was a kid we played a game called "Red Dog" that involved only 3 cards, but I have no clue how it was played.

Cheers,
--VS

I just listened to

http://www.thinkingpoker.net/2014/05/episode-79-the-computer-poker-research-group

Really interesting interview with two computer poker chaps from Alberta. Confirms everything I thought about multiplayer games. Well worth listening to.
