SB posts SB $0.10, BB posts BB $0.25

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.35) Hero has J :diamond: Q :club:
fold, fold, CO raises to $0.70, Hero calls $0.70, fold, fold

Flop : ($1.75, 2 players) J :club: 5 :diamond: 4
CO bets $0.95, Hero calls $0.95

Turn : ($3.65, 2 players) Q
CO bets $1.82, Hero raises to $5.00, CO calls $3.18

River : ($13.65, 2 players) 2
CO checks, Hero bets $5.00, CO raises to $28.65, Hero??

When I raised on the turn he went into the tank and thought a lot before calling. I had initially planned to b/f the river with a small value bet...but I don't think the FD tanks about it...and I don't see 63 with him raising PF...I'm sure a set would reraise on the turn...so I think its a b/c??

Also...is the turn raise size ok?? I'm thinking I should go to $6-6.5-ish??

Cheers,
TC

I think we should go river bigger, and fold vs raise. Is that gut fishy??
As played I would fold, but it is pot odds call imo: )

if your plan was to b/f the river then stick with it...

what can he be bluffing with? 67?

Hey TeamCupcake,

Preflop defend is fine, might be slightly stronger to 3b as a bluff with this hand.

Flop call is standard.

Raising turn is a little thin I recommend just calling turn here and calling most rivers.

As played river bet/fold should be good.

Mysteryman21 - He was a super aggressive player 45/31 over small sample...but I would tend that bluffing or playing marginal hands is a decent portion of his game.

Tomaloc - You are right, I should stick with plans!! He was bluffing with A :heart:2 :club:

Thank you w32z3l,

A few follow up questions...

You would 3bet bluff this because its CO vs BTN and/or his 45/31 (30 hands though)??

Why would the raise on the turn be considered thin?? My thinking was I'm losing to 55 and 44...I block JJ and QQ to one combo each...I don't want to let AK, or any OESD draw cheap...or if he has AA or KK, I don't want to be counterfeit with a 5 or 4...

As I'm typing this...I'm realizing that EVERY card that comes can finish a draw of some sort...even more reason to stick with the b/f plan on the river...but since the board is so draw heavy...isn't that more of a reason to raise and protect??

Cheers,
TC
