$0.25/$0.50 No Limit Holdem

Stacks:
UTG Player4 ($113.60) 227bb
UTG+1 Player5 ($97.66) 195bb
CO Player6 ($45.05) 90bb
BTN gAsheks ($50) 100bb
SB Player2 ($137.22) 274bb
BB Player3 ($51.90) 104bb

Pre-Flop: ($0.75, 6 players) gAsheks is BTN
Player4 calls $0.50, 2 folds, gAsheks raises to $2, 2 folds, Player4 calls $1.50

Flop: ($4.75, 2 players)
Player4 checks, gAsheks bets $2.75, Player4 calls $2.75

Turn: ($10.25, 2 players)
Player4 checks, gAsheks bets $5.50, Player4 folds

Villain is unknown, but as we see he limps. Question is about barreling. I was planning to put pressure on his weak pocket pairs and also hands like A :heart:4  etc. What you think about it?

IF we dont improve our equity on turn we should give up?

this is interesting, i think it's a definite barrel with this hand with equity+fold equity.
build up the pot for your tons of outs (overcards are likely good as well), he should fold his random Ax, maybe pp, and you might even get called by worse (backdoor sc floats) if he never folds to cbets :f_biggrin:

Hi,

flop - this is a easy CB, paired board and the J does not hit his range. hes likely to fold most hands to one or 2 bets. so as a default this hand i would barrel twice here on all turns.

turn - this turn is actually good for us, pocket pairs 77-99 is more likely to fold here. 22-55 would fold anyway to a bet even if the T did not come. A4s A5s would also fold anyway if this card did not come. and this card strengthened our range, we now have additional OESD. however this card also strengthens his broadway range like AQ KQ TK if he actually has it. i think your bet sizing is fine, T that hit on the turn is not folding to any bet size and the rest of his range is price insensitive.

Thanks

When you say "barrel as default twice" you mean if you got called on turn you're giving up on most rivers? No need to triple barrel our friend?

What if we hit our TP? We start considering throwing small value bet?

hi,

barrel as default twice means i am never just barreling once. its either none, twice or thrice. pocket pairs is not folding to one bet. but im not sure whether it takes 2 or 3 barrels to take him off. usually its 2, sometimes its 3, depends on player.

if he calls our bets twice, what does he have? on this board its very likely to be the J, and how big of a bet does the J call? im thinking pretty big, at least 50% pot, maybe 60-70%?

thanks
