So do you want to give him the overcards and hearts for free, or protect your hand?

Makes me think of a recent hand where somebody put 1BB as a bet on the flop, there were a few limpers so the pot was 10BB and I was getting 11:1 to call, which made playing the pocket pair to turn a set a playable move (assuming some implied odds). Turn came a 7 and I made a set. Anything more than some weak 1BB bet and I would have been out of that hand on the flop.

Preflop: looks fine

Postflop: Definitely cbet the flop there with your overpair. You have value from pairs and draws and protect to some degree.

As played your line doesn't make sense at all. Why bet close to pot (donk) into him to then underbet the river?

Was your goal to induce stuff from him?

As I said I really don't like my line there, turn was bet for protection and river bet is to get value from weak pairs.

The thing is if you consider both turn and river a heart or overcard will come more than 50% of the time and he'll call with all that. By cbetting I build a pot and don't know where I stand on these cards. I preffer to keep it smaller and bet safe cards. Any sense in that?

Without information your life becomes much harder once you check/call.

You send a vibe that your hand is weak and can get bluffed easily along with allowing opponent a chance at free cards or a chance to valuebet you anyway you want.

By betting JJ here you bet for value/protection and you can get his equity to fold sometimes.

So what if heart or overcard comes down 50% of the time by the river? The river is a long way out and you still have to make it there. You will take the pot down often on flop or turn.

If we check I would at least ck/raise. That way you let him take a stab and you get value from his hands.

cbet flop close to pot here you will get called here by all f draws and most of his overcards a bet of about 30c should be fine here

turn same thing the board has not changed at call so why stop betting? you will get a lot of folds from 2barreling here. Most overcards will fold and they have equity vs you and youre happy to get a fold from those. All Tx calls you so you get value here and maybe some hands like 88-99 might still call I would bet around 50-60c here

River is tricky here since you have JJ you block TJ combos and opponent will have some T9 combos but still you have to bet this river for value. I would bet about 1-1.3$ here and would probably fold if he raises me. This bet sizing will get calls from all Tx and you will only get raised by better hands and maybe some bluffs but bluffs on river are super rare on NL5 so I woudnt worry about them.

Just get value from your hands and protect your hands.

The general tip I can give you is the more wet the board is the more you should value bet your hands and value bet them BIG, close to pot size. Specially at micros youll be suprised on what kind of calls you will get.
