Maybe you are just trying to say you are dissapointed that that's the state of the game nowdays? Unfortunately i think this will happen with anything competitive you try. You can say you love to paint and you can paint however much you want and that will never change. But you can't say you like playing football, but you are not playing it anymore because everyone is better but you don't want to train to become good as well.

I very much doubt that you will win in sportsbetting and casinogames. In poker you at least can improve to be a winner. Theoretically.

I can recommend 888´s 1 dollar tables. There are absolutely no regs there and it´s hilarious sometimes. They have no clue at all.

I think one of most important rule is make deposit for 50 or 100 games and forget about moneys witch you wana win, just play and enjoy!! , because i see you sad you lost $$$ and you dont wana lose again your $$$

If you want to play and win at poker but you're a recreational player, then start at NL2-NL5. They are incredibly easy to beat, even without additional software.

Telling people to play casino games instead of poker is extremely wrong in my opinion. There, you are 100% guaranteed to lose money in the long run because the games are always made with a house edge. At poker, nobody has an unfair advantage and almost anyone can beat NL2-NL5 with just a few hours of study in their entire life. The same can be said about micro stakes SNGs.

Moreover, you can learn a game like Pot Limit Omaha, which is way softer than No Limit Hold'em, and you can win at that game at some decent stakes, if the idea of playing NL2-NL5 recreationally does not appeal to you.

Aaaaaand I just found out OP's ulterior motive for this post and video. He owns a casino referral site (it's advertised/linked in his video), so, naturally, he'd encourage people to play and lose money there so he can get a commission.

That is stupid. I play less than 1 hour a day, playing just for fun. Don´t use any software and are winning player (not hugely successful but +0,7bb/100 is still a win).

Had a speech(rant) prepared but have just noticed the OP is a bit of a chancer.

I'm also a recreational player - started playing poker for the first time in May. The main problem is not sharks but time. I just can't fit all the things I would like to do with poker in but have never felt intimidated by my fellow players.

My advice if you're a beginner -

Get used to following the advice on this site with a tight aggressive style of play.

Observe a really strict bankroll management - at least to start with.

Take advantage of all the free money offers, freerolls, bonuses that you can.

Do all this and I think you'll find it hard not to see your bankroll increase.

In the end though for a recreational player the main aim is to have fun but challenging yourself to improve can make you enjoy the game even more.

Nowdays people think getting better means you have to be loose 3betting grinder from late position and play the same as someone who made a pokervideo, playing gazzilion tables without paying attention to whats going on around you cuz you have a hud and bracket people all the same based on a few hundred hands your golden tracking software gave you some funky numbers that 90% off people wrongly interpret and make stupid moves and be full of them selves of how good they are because they get it in bad and suckout. LoL

Perhaps some think this way. I think that being a good poker player is recognizing opportunity and taking advantage of it.

The opportunity might be there because of the cards, the player(s) involved or both.

The "opportunity" just might be the opportunity to fold and save money.

I think the 2nd bold statement in the quote is the wisest thing you've posted. You need to be aware of how your opponents are playing NOW and NOT how they played over the last 1000 hands.
