check-call is almost always better with a strong 2ndpair hand.

When you choose to bet 2nd pair with this hand, it must mean that you expect him to call with a ton of worse hands like 3rd pair or Ace high or gutshots. I suppose the <50% pot size bet is better than a larger bet, but a check is probably your best option still.

Which means that you should be prepared to check-call a blank turn.

Does that apply here? probably not, squeeze from you means that his continuation range is probably going to be pretty tight.
