I've been guilty of falling into that trap myself once or twice... (ok maybe a few times more than that).
It's such a funny thing too because either you call and prove you shouldn't have and then beat yourself up for being a dummy and tilt more, or (and I think this is possibly worse), you call and find you did make a hero call and train yourself to call far too wide...
Now get back on that horse and trample your opponents!
The past few days have not been kind to the bankroll. (I'm still up for the month, but not on the same track I was the first week of play.)
I believe it is a combination of bad beats and playing a bit too LAG. Nothing I can do about the bad beats, so need to review my play and adjust - hopefully some of the regs noticed my LAG style, took some notes and will over-adjust too much to me (yeah right - wishful thinking 
).
Although it may have cost me a bit, I think diverging a little from your regular play from time-to-time is a good thing overall because it forces you outside your comfort zone and allows you to grow. It gives you new areas and different types of hands to analyze and think about. No more games planned for tonight - just a really good review session.
Reviewed almost 100 hands from the past few days.
Turns out I wasn't playing that bad after all, just really running into the very top of people's ranges often. Also saw a lot of spots where both Hero and Villain were playing correct ranges vs each other but outcome was in favour of villain much more often this week.
I only found 5 hands where I really made a bad/obvious mistake and I attribute this to not taking time to think about villains stats or I would have known instantly that it was bad decision. To be expected I guess when adjusting to increased table count.
I've been trying to extract extra value from hands by seeing more flops and so my review sessions are getting a bit harder since it isn't simply a push/fold ICM exercise. I guess this is where I need to start using Equilab and talking to coach a bit more.

Got another small session in tonight. The run-bad and set-ups just keep on coming...
Think I experienced a bit of tilt near the end of the session tonight - nothing too serious, just a bit of frustration and some muttering under my breath. It's been quite awhile since that's happened.
Ahh well, off to bed and tomorrow is a new day!
I remember the good old days... when variance was a little gentler... it doesn't seem all that long ago - oh yeah that was last week when I reported my 100-game update and it looked like this:
Games Played: 100
ROI: 24.0%
ITM: 43% (56% adjusted for bounties)
This week variance is on a rampage and out for revenge... Here is my 200-game update for the month:
Games Played: 203
ROI: 1.80%
ITM: 36% (49% adjusted for bounties)
I started marking hands to post to show the incredible bad beats I'm incurring, but I'm not going to do that - bad beats happen and it would just be whining. Dwelling on it isn't going to make things any better - in fact it could only make things worse.
Golden SitnGo's are coming soon - week of Nov 17th. I didn't catch any last time, hopefully I'll hit a good few this time around! Have a good weekend all!
Variance and I have declared a cease-fire...
It took awhile to negotiate the terms but in a nutshell the agreement is this: I am allowed to grind away and earn FPP's and maintain my bankroll steady, but if try to make a profit through good solid play she will strike with a vengeance and wipe it out.
Tensions are high and negotiations continue...I'll keep you posted.
Like most cease-fires... it didn't last long.
She struck first and frequently... so much so that I announced allowed to Mrs. Ramble that I needed to take tomorrow off from poker to clear my head and reset my mental game. Variance has not bothered me in many months - and I am more frustrated that I am frustrated, then I am at the actual variance.
The (good) news is that I decided to plug on and finish my planned session. In the end I retaliated hard, even convinced variance to fight for me a few times and finished the the day with an ROI of +36.9%... mua-ha-ha-ha-haha!!!
Still playing a break-even game. I can't blame it on variance though as I find I played B-Game (or worse) in some critical spots tonight.
I've given some thought to some areas of study that I want to pursue and some HUD changes that I want to make. I'm just not sure if I want to do those things because I really want to do them or because I'm trying to avoid playing poker based on the frustrations I'm experiencing.
I'm torn between taking a break or pushing through... maybe I'll go have a 
and think about it...

Thanks John! I'm not sure if the whipping excited me or scared me, but I had a good night at the tables after reading your post above.
I decided to have a small session - only 10 games. Had three 1st's and five 3rd's for a nice profit! ♠_thumbsup: Would have had one more ITM, but bubbled a game with AA vs A5s all-in pre and villain rivered a flush... oh well!
I was definitely playing a much better game tonight - much more table-aware and not making marginal plays when I didn't have to.
I haven't hit a Golden SnG yet, but have decided to keep playing until they are over (just in case) and will defer my new study and HUD changes until after the promotion is over. I'll likely be posting my 300 game update early this weekend.

Another small session today with good results. Still no Golden Sng's, has anyone here received one yet this promo?
I'm really glad I pushed through the downswing and kept playing even if just putting in small sessions. It's a bit of a confidence booster that if you keep playing and just focus on your game you'll make it through.
yeah variance can be a pain in the butt sometimes. luckily I've learned to deal with it a lot better than when I first started playing:f_thumbsup::f_tongue:

Yeah, they used to crack down on games here even though most of the bars weren't charging a rake or anything (it was just to draw customers in) and a cut of the prize pool was donated to charity... (no one ever arrested I don't think, but some fines were given out if I remember right). The games all dried up for a bit, but they are back now at some locations, but the bars don't do anything with the money - I guess not giving to charity is better somehow...

My focus and table awareness has been very strong the past few days, but there were still a couple of hands that I made major mistakes on tonight.
Tomorrow I'm going out to play at a home game with the boys and drink my ass off. I will likely end up passed out in the hot tub in sub-zero temperatures...
Wasn't planning on getting any online games in today but had a small breakeven session of 18 games. Played very well except bubbled 4 tourneys - oddly enough, each time with AQ in spots that I really did not play well at all. In two of the spots I was 15-20 blinds deep and got myself in a confrontation with another big-stack while there was a shorty at the table with only 2-3 blinds left... So made a couple of bucks, but better play would have made me much better bucks.... I've reviewed the hands and am re-focused on better bubble play.
Bankroll is building very nicely this month in spite of my mini-downswing experience earlier.
