Hello!

IPoker, $0.05/$0.10 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 4 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

SB: $16.70 (167 bb)
BB: $13 (130 bb)
Hero (CO): $10.90 (109 bb)
BTN: $10.20 (102 bb)

Preflop: Hero is CO with Q Q
Hero raises to $0.30, BTN folds, SB raises to $1.10, BB folds, Hero calls $0.80

Flop: ($2.30) 5 A 3 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks

Turn: ($2.30) A (2 players)
SB bets $1.15, Hero calls $1.15

River: ($4.60) 6 (2 players)
SB bets $3.60, Hero folds

SB: 18/15/50/10/34 (VPIP/PFR/FtST/3B/H)

Preflop: Standard open. Even though the 3bet from an unknown, but probably tightish player looks strong, think folding Q's is too weak there and 4betting would be an overplay.

Flop: Never nice to see an overcard in this situation, but - surprisingly, a villian decided to check. I would usually expect him to cbet this kind of flop with Ax, so his check might mean that he doesn't have an ace. Not sure if I should bet there, though. I want to avoid check/raising and if I bet, I probably wont get calls from worse hands + I have a backdoor flushdraw. So I decided to check back.

Turn: Now Ax is even less probable to be in his range, and he decided to bet. Now I think he can easily bluff, so decided to bluffcatch.

River: I didn't expect him to bet the river, in which case I would throw a small bet. According to his flop play, I don't believe he has a flush now, so his bet really doesn't have much sense to me, expecially that sizeing. So, I think this is a bluff in much cases and I should call that. At that point, I thought that I can't expect an unknown to bluff the river that often and decided to fold..

Hi,
PF I am not sure if 4betting QQ there vs unknown would be overplay.
I think it wouldn't but certainly flatting seems like the best option IP.

Flop&turn I would play them the same way.

Tough decision on river, my first thought was to call, his play doesn't make much sense.

Although, I see people check that flop in 3b pots with weakish ace, planning to x/c.
So if he did that, he would bet turn and river.
Not sure, think i'm calling, would like to hear other opinions.

Btw, i saw in your sig that you are playin NL10 on ipoker. I also play on ipoker, moved to NL20 this month, hit me a PM if you want to discuss hands/strategies on skype.
Also from Croatia :)

EDIT: wasn't on this forum for years, looks like I shouldn't even post in this forum. apologies

hi

if you have any reason to believe that his 3bet range is not super nitty (10% would be far more than enough, though obviously your sample isn't reliable) then you should have a profitable 4bet/callshove, because there's enough dead money in the middle. you profit either by having good equity against his shoving range, or by him folding too much to your 4bets.

that said, calling in position isn't super terrible or anything against a potentially tight opponent, i also agree with flop and turn reasoning. we'd have an easy vbet on the turn+river if he checked again, it'd be likely that he doesn't have us beat.

as played, the whole of his play doesn't make that much sense (flop check + turn sizing + river sizing on the flush completing card). let's see some points:
- microlimit players tend to always cbet bluff the A high flop when they have nothing, so when they check they most likely have something. could be a pocket pair, or an weak ace.
- once you check behind, you most likely don't have an ace or a flushdraw, as these hands would most likely bet the flop. you also don't have KK+ in your range (would 4bet pre), so he can valuebet his QQ+ easily
- on the river the flush completes and he increases sizing (repping the flush?), but a flushdraw would most likely cbet this "good flop for cbetting". on the other hand, you also most likely would have bet the flop with a flushdraw, so his hand that was good on the turn still is highly likely to be good on the river.

i'm just not giving credit for him to be thinking like that though... i don't think most nl10 players vbet even an ace with that sizing on the flush completing card. he can't have A:h x:h (A:h on the board)... you also have the Q:h (flush blocker), so that also weighs it towards a call.
on the other hand, i just don't think many people are skipping the cbet on this "good flop for cbetting" to bluff like that... but his line just doesn't make sense.

so i end up calling, but i think it's close. feel free to ask for the opinion of another judge
