Greetings everyone,
I feel like I don't have a talent for this game at all. I was never good in either home games or online poker. But i don't know... when I got my first poker hand dealt, it just felt so right. Probably I'm just being naive. Anyway It's been a long time since I played poker, but all this time I have been thinking about giving one more try. I think if I keep delaying this, it will never happen, and I don't want to have any regrets.
I have tried online poker one or two years ago, made couple small deposits. But I failed.
I used those basic strategies that I red somewhere, followed starting hands chart. I tried to play Tight-Aggressive style, but I'm just very unskilled. What I did was waiting for good cards, and when I get them, especially if I flop two pair or a set, I go to the end, no matter what else is on the board. I thought that if anyone plays in NL2 he must be a very bad player, and he is calling my raises with any two cards . But I soon found out that not everyone is as dumb as I thought.
So my plan now is to start everything from scratch. Well basically, I have no knowledge to begin with anyway.
For then next month or two, I'm going to put all my effort to learn poker. And then, when I think that I'm ready, I will make a deposit.
But I have so many questions, and I don't even know is this the right place to ask them. But I need help, really I do.
I'm serious about this, I want to see if I am able to get better at this game, or I am destined to fail.
For example one of my question is, do I have to try every single type of poker, to find which one suits me best? Because I only know no limit hold'em, stud and pot limit omaha. Should I try for example limit hold'em? Or there is no difference?
Another thing. I have this book " crushing the microstakes". They say this is the best book in the world for beating microstakes, but I think it was written in 2011. Is this book still good, because I think over few years online poker changed a lot. I have many more questions, and I hope there are people who are willing to help me.
I hope you understood what I meant to say, because I don't speak english very well.
