Here is a hand I played the other day.
A few of us have been dissecting my play in my thread and it was suggested I should post it here for evaluation which I am doing.
Here are some of the comments I made about my play of this hand.
I have been thinking about my turn bet on this hand all day and for the life of me I can not think of any reason why this bet is wrong.
Well this is my reasoning.
FLOP
1-In a multi-way pot the aggressor is less likely to C-Bet.
2-If he C-Bets I can check-raise but if he calls the check-raise what do I do with a bad turn card like the one that hit.
a)-Do I now check-fold? pot odds will not be there to continue (We discussed this 2 hands ago)
b)-check-call and hope I complete my full-house out of position and then hope I get paid off so I can add in the implied odds to justify making this play (We discussed this 2 hands ago)
3-If he doesn't C-Bet then the pot never gets big enough to force anyone fold on a pot sized turn bet and the turn will most likely put another draw on the board.
4-Based on this my best action is to bet pot on the flop.
Turn
5-By betting pot on the turn I am conveying/representing/forcing the following;
a)-All made turn straights will now fold as I have now represented that my flop bet was on a flush draw that got there
b)-All non nut flushes will have a hard time calling
c)-If he has flopped a smaller set he will be unknowingly getting his money in with a 1 outer

6-If he calls my pot turn bet then he most likely has me beat and I will have at most 10 outs to get there.
And the hand now plays the exact same as
A-I check raised the flop and he called the check-raise
B-I checked the turn after betting the flop and he makes a pot turn bet which I would then have to put all my chips in to call.

By doing it this way I have given him lots of reasons to fold his made straight and non-nut made flush hands.
NOTE After the flop my mind was made up to see the hand to the end with all my chips in play. My flopped set has turned into a SEMI-BLUFF on the turn

This is why this is a much superior play and will work more times then it fails and we are looking for optimum plays, not necessarily plays that are results orientated.

My turn bet is designed to get hands that are better then mine to fold.
I am 100% certain all made straights will fold to my turn bet.
I am also fairly confident small made flushes will have a hard time finding a call. They may of course or they may not.
My bet is designed to polarize his hand. I feel only nut or near nut flushes can call that bet. Nothing else.

Yeah, just now. Added another question regarding my actual believe how to play and wait for that response now... but it looks like you are right... and I was wrong... :)

Maybe a advice for next time is to use ‘Report to moderator’ button on the top right of every post when you want to move your thread to an other location, because we can’t see everything on the forum.
