On a Tc turn, after the flop goes x/x. UTG check jams 6%! 80bb in your face. Take that...

I'm thinking of starting a run of this situation with some more bet sizes, but I'm not seeing this check jam 6% on Tc turn when I look at the solution. ?(

Nice, So far this month I've won $5.00 x2, $1.00 x2 and $2 once.
Your $9.00 is still the largest cash I've heard about.

Keep it up!

Spent a few days in a small crayfishing town called Beachport. The crayfish they catch are apparently the best in the world (according to those that live there... ) and sell for $100/kg. With practically all of them shipped to China through Hong Kong (to avoid duty fees).

An interesting story: a few years ago, the smaller crayfisher were selling for about 20% more (because the bigger ones were too big to fit on a plate for a meal in china!), so the proffesionals were throwing away the big ones before they got back to land to keep under the weight quota and make some more money. Which left the locals who only have recreational licenses to go and fish the spot where all the big ones were dumped and catch them for their own use!

So yeah, the town is doing pretty well. Where I stayed, the house cat was fed crayfish...

Crayfishing didn't seem too hard to me either. One needn't go too far offshore and the only real 'hard work' seems to be re baiting the pots and connecting to them a winch to pull them up. Mostly only 8 to 15 metres. The best part is, they start in about October and quite a few have already finished for the season having reached their quota. So one would have the rest of the year to pursue other activities.
The main problem would be getting a license. Which stay in families and would set one back quite a few millions. I guess no real fishing for me. :f_frown:

No surprises that I can't seem to replicate it... I'll keep looking but yeah.. sorry. Maybe it was a river spot, I went over a few of those too. At least another betsize of pot would be nice anyway.

While trying to replicate it, I did find that on the Tc turn after flop goes UTG bet, call and turn check/bet. UTG folds 78%, calls 10% and raises the remaining 13% (12+1jam). I find this interesting that he likes to defend his checking range here with aggressive raises, rather than calls. I think I'll have to go over some more spots similar before trying to come to some usable conclusions though.

Ah, I think I've found that 6% jam! It's when UTG check/calls the flop and then faces a bet after checking the turn (on the Tc turn).

Crayfishing sounds tempting. Do you think they have an opening for a fat, unfit middle-aged mathematician?

Aha! OK. The good news is, I tried this situation again with bet sizes of 0.6, 0.85 and 1.1 pot. The bad news is that, in the situation you describe, I only allow the 0.6 pot check/raise on the turn, so we don't learn anything. The reason is that if UTG makes a 0.85 pot check-raise on the turn and BTN calls, they would each have less than a 0.6 pot bet left, so I made the game tree have only a jam. In fact, in this situation, a jam looks like the sensible c/r size. If the flop had gone c/c, it wouldn't, so there you go.......:fouet:

Comment number 3. Maybe you could support me in my quest for a more substantial penis.

Thanks in advance.

yeah, I use adblocker so haven't seen those. Did you see the the hand histories are gone too? Less and less content is released here. Less quality too.

Pokerstrategy is just not what it was. I doubt complaining will help. I'll just moan here instead.
New owners combined with diminishing revenues. Easy to see this coming. I've a friend whose theory is that all online businesses eventually devlove to spam. It's been pretty accurate so far and looks on target with here.

I wonder how much of that diminishing revenue in the poker industry is due to excessive rake for new players/micro stakes. Which make those games pretty much unbeatable....
Why shear the sheep when you can skin it seems to be the attitude. It's staggering to see the rake these sites get away with charging considering all the 'free to play' gaming going around now.

Maybe that's why there's a lack of interest in your CFR software. Coz pokerstrategy no longer attracts the aspirational poker market as the industry seems hellbent on killing those guys off. Different customers call for a different strategy. How about a mini neural net, where you input some hands of a player and then it spits out some stupid over the top, more than likely bad, exploitable plays. That would cater to the current market methinks...

bitch moan bitch

Isn't accidentally shutting the door a little hard equivalent to 3.8?

Very funny. I nearly shat myself. We were watching Whiplash at the time. I think all that drumming set it off. Great movie btw. I'm teaching in 20 minutes, and am going to tell that students that I've found a new role model for my teaching....:fouet:
