For productivity I give myself a 6.5 out of 10 for yesterday.
For today I will:
- Grind 3x45 games
The rest of the time I will enjoy my weekend and maybe squeeze some more studying in.
So in the end I grinded 2x45 minutes on Saturday. However yesterday I squeezed in some studying by watching a video about cbetting and barreling. Although I had already watched it before, I did have some "aha" moments again which, as you all know, is always a very good thing.
So although I didn't complete my goal of 3x45 minutes I am still satisfied with my productivity, giving myself a 7 out of 10.
Considering my mental game, I noticed that I was able to pull more readless ranges from my memory. One thing I will need to work on when I have the ranges memorized is to pay more attention to subtle deviations in gameplan from the villain. This may not be important yet as I'm playing insignificant stakes but later on this obviously becomes important. My mental game was not challenged much as I was running well/hitting boards etc, but I did notice I had to refocus sometimes because of the very fact that it was going so easy, a phenomenom that is called "winners tilt".
I give myself a 7 out of 10 for my mental game just because my mental game was not challenged a lot.
I also had a talk with my future coach and staker and I have decided to go through with the deal so we will be starting this week.
So for today I will:
- Grind 4x45 minutes
- Finish the video on cbetting for 1.5 hour
- Go over the ROFL theory some more for 30 minutes
- Quiz myself on readless ranges for 1 hour

I only did 3x45 minutes of grinding today, not much excuses so should do better tomorrow.
I did finish the first part of the video on cbetting, but it took me like 45 minutes. I also went over ROFL again but very briefly. No quizzing today.
So considering everything I have to be harsh on myself and give myself a 4 out of 10 for productivity.
At the end I was also very tired and might have played some spots too fast so I will check that tomorrow.
My mental game a 6.5 out of 10 again.
For tomorrow I will:
- Analyze my last batch of games from today for 1 hour
- Quiz myself on ranges for 1 hour
- A session with my coach, probably 1,5 hour or so
- Grind 4x45 minutes
Good night all!
Your daughter is a charm! Sorry i only just saw this - congratulations to you both

So it's been a solid week since I posted, and it was quite hectic. I decided to part with my coach and staker (before the actual staking started), I'm not going into any details and I'm just going to leave it at that, I will just say that it was a very hard decision.
So from now on I will try to grind the HU hypers on my own and climb up the ranks. With everything going on it's been a very stressful and difficult time but I will fight through it.
So back to the daily routine, my plan for today is the following:
- Go over my session notes from yesterday
- Quiz myself on SB and BB readless ranges for 0.5-1 hr
- Finish watching the cbetting and barreling video and take notes for 1-1.5 hr
- Grind for 5 hours

I did not do the quiz on the SB and BB readless ranges but I have them down quite well I think. However, I spend a bit more time on the video about barreling and cbetting and good some good info from it.
As far as grinding goes I played about 4 hrs, I was on track but then the little one got restless so I had to stop early.
It's already 2 today so I will be doing a bit less studying and more grinding today.
- Check shove over limp ranges and raise limp ranges again for 0.5 hrs (already done)
- Grind 5.5-6hrs

In the end I grinded around 4.5 hrs on Friday, but did manage to play another hour on Sunday. I also watched a video on the subject on checkraising while I was traveling, I will rewatch it tomorrow and make some notes.
From now on I will also set weekly goals to keep me going. This week I will grind 30 hours and study 8 hours.
Tomorrow I have to take the little one to the city hall for some paperwork so my day is cut short.
For tomorrow I will:
- Grind 5.5 hours
- Rewatch the video on checkraising for 1.5 hours
It's been a few days already since my last post. I thought I had made a post about my goals this week (but I guess I forgot), which were:
- 30 hrs of grinding
- 8 hrs of study
So far I have only done 20 hrs of grinding and 5 hrs of studying. I did discover a way to make things more productive though, so I will start doing that from Monday on and see if it works.
Sadly I have also decided to find a regular job, at least for the meantime. It was a hard decision but things have not been going so well lately resultswise and I obviously have a lot of expenses which slowly but surely ate my BR away. To be honest it's been a rough few months and all the stress wasn't that good for my focus and I realized that way too late.
I will keep grinding as long as I haven't found a job but after that I will be a recreational player trying to make some additional income.
Have you considered joining some coaching/staking deals in other format?
Perhaps switching to MTTs???
I am not so sure about real job cause I treat poker as one. I am sure you can find higher then 3k a month income in Holland so honestly I was expecting this a lot earlier to happen, not just with you but anybody living in Western Europe
GL and obviously hope you will return strong to poker one day !
I could go for a coaching/staking deal indeed, it has crossed my mind but I haven't thoroughly thought about it and I found out that with the last staking/deal I tried I had more stress than without.
MTT's is a no-go, I have a little one to take care of during the day so I'm quite liking HU hypers so far because I can stop in a matter of minutes.
I would rather not find a real job either but yeah I also need to be responsible now for my family.
I have quite a high degree so IF I find a job (big IF because also here the economy is still low) it would be more than $3k indeed.
Thanks for the input, I will think about it!
It's been a long time since I posted here. Honestly having some quite rough times at the moment.
I have been both searching for a job and still playing poker as much as I can. The job search has been frustrating so far and it really reminds me why I did not go for a regular job in the first place. I have been to like 8-10 interviews already but I got in at none. From one point people have been impressed by my analytical skills (which are very important in the kind of job I'm looking for (business process management if anyone is interested)), but on the other hand they seem to question my motivation, which I guess is a bit true as well considering that I would much rather continue with poker as a full-time job. So it's tough for sure. I know from myself what I can do and what I hate is that I have to rely on a one hour interview and a bunch of people I don't know to "succeed" in finding a job, whereas I'm thinking "I don't need these people to succeed, I can make my own success". However, considering that my financial situation is quite troublesome it's quite necessary to find one.
On the other side, I have been also working on plan B, which is starting up as a poker affiliate. I have help from a few guys and it really seems very interesting to me and I'm working hard on making that work as well (which if it does, screw job search ♦ ).
Besides that I'm still playing HU hypers as well. It seems I'm able to beat the 7s (never though I would be happy to be able to beat such a low stake). It's not a top-notch EV ROI yet but I feel I'm definitely doing a lot better than I was in the beginning.
I'm managing quite well now with juggling baby duties (I have to take care of her while my gf is at work 4 days a week) and playing. However, since I'm not multitabling all the time yet my volume is very low for a HU hyper grinder.
My graph for those of you who are interested:

(this is both $3.5s and $7s)
