So you never raise AKs when you got a lot of chips ? wtg habib, can i have your screen name and info on what site you play ?
With AKs you are noticable dog only vs AA/KK, against any other hand you are at least flipping, so shoving it to see 5 cards is very ev+, plus you can always win the hand right now if your opponent will fold.
I always raise AK... not reraising unless I have less than 24BB... pushing preflop with 1x raiser when you have 24BB doesn't make sense.... if you reraise and villain then pushes, you HAVE to call.... and you'd be lucky to seen QQ or worse... plus I prefer cold calling a raise, cos if it's a weaker A, PP and I hit the flop I will more often than not get great value...
If I miss the flop I do not have to go broke on the next 2 cards... it's all situation dependent.... but it is not necessary to get all your chips in as quickly as possible with AK... especially if you do have a lot of them...
Yea that's right man, it's just how you play AK
You don't want to gamble or even risk your chips in the early stages of an sng. Your equity rises simply by the donks killing each other ♦
That of course does not mean we should skip these clearly +EV situations
