Villain is a fish-wannabe, 40/7 from 15 hands.
In this hand, I think that I dodged the bullet, because my hand ranks towards the bottom of the continuation range on the turn and further streets. Because the villain limp/called, I won't think he has middling pairs, like 88 to 10-10, nor does he have JJ or QQ, otherwise he would have raised. So, what remains are
and :7x:. Even if I exclude :Ax::Kx:, because, again, he limp/called, plenty of hands that beat me will remain. Equilabbing the range that I gave to him, my results were:
Board: 7♦7♠K♣
Equity Win Tie
UTG 63.92% 46.35% 17.57% { 77, A7s, KTs+, A7o, KTo+ }
BB 36.08% 18.51% 17.57% { KdJc }
What I want to know are the following things:
- What to do OTT, if he calls the flop continuation bet? Fire another bet and hope he has a weaker hand? Check and give him a chance to do something?
- What to do OTR? His bet looks very well like a value bet and I was very tempted to lay down the hand.
- Finally, what is your opinion? Did I play bad and got lucky, or is a standard play?
