NL16 SH Zoom 99, 2nd pair in MWP, OOP without initiative

This is perfect spot for a squeeze. CO opens, BU calls.
There are too many higher cards you do not want to see and vs 2 players it is not ok.

some informations about your opponents would be helpfull,i think you play the hand perfectly, i dont like squeeze here without further information that CO is open very wide and the BTN calls very loose, and 99 is a hand that has a very good postflop playability so i dont want to waste the hand postflop value by squeezing here, because if we get 4bet by CO we must muck our hand also we are in the worst position after the flop if we get called. if im going to squeeze i want my range to be polarized i will do this with the best hands JJ+ AK or a bluff like 65s+ J9+ or something like that.

by playability i mean you have an easy decision post flop, if u squeeze and get called how you continue on that flop? with medium pokect pair my goal is to see a cheap flop and hit something big, also you are OOP on the flop i don't want to play big pots OOP, by calling you dont invest to much money and make your life easier.

I want to get a general info here. So, let's imagine the opponents are unknown.

I think the hand played fine. With info that they fold a ton we can consider a sqz but many many flops will make your life slightly difficult if you expect much more than to check/fold. Overcards will happen a lot and you will face tough spots when people start betting out multiway. Giving up on the flop is best when you don't flop the set. You might have the best hand but you will either get outdrawn, or villain will bluff effectively against you. There are better spots to make money than trying to hero around marginal spots

It plays well as a setmine multiway - you have easy decisions postflop. Looking at equity here is largely pointless since you must account for equity realisation which is not very easy.

The purpose of the squeeze is to narrow the field, to play with initiative postflop OOP.

Ok, but what would be the best move on the flop there, as played preflop? I don't think we are strong enough for check/calling multi-way, so I think donking would be the best?
