The guy was an absolute rock with 5 VPIP and 3 PFR, he very probably folds AQ preflop if someone has raised. The only things he's calling with are AK and pocket pairs. So I discard he has a xQ hand. I also discard any weird combo of suited cards, he's not cold calling preflop with suited cards if he has a 5 VPIP. So I think one can discard he's check raising a flush draw. This leaves the field down to AA KK QQ 99 or 33 as the possible hands I put him on with his play on the turn. His play line suggests he has trips, I doubt a rock will play this line with AA or KK. The only trips I was beating was 33, so I think folding was the safer option.
Just min cashed SCOOP 46. Yet again a major dissappointment. Had an average sized stack with a bully big stack on the table, of course when I shipped into his min raise with my AJo, he actually had something, AKs. Got no help on the flop. Tourney over for me. Tourney had a new chip leader. 1800/22000 for $15.35. 
Despite being turbo the tourney was softish, I had 30 bb+ most of the mid part of the tourney. A double up here would have taken me to top 1000 easy. Of course when I had AA a couple hands earlier no one called my raise. 
Damn, again, so close but no cigar. $2.20 NL Holdem 27/1330 for $10.64. Goddamnit!!! Was in mp with 22 w around 15bb, shipped, a loose big stack reshipped behind me, and on the bb a short stack called. Big stack shows AJo, short stack AQo, eliminating one A out. J on the flop. With that more then double up I'm confident I was getting to the final table.
I made a round up of my top finishes in this week since I started playing poker again. When I sat down today I threw away around $20 br spewing away some MTTs, just out of the mounting frustration of getting so far consistently but failing to get a big cash. Pretty much a similar story as my previous shots at playing poker seriously. Close but no cigar. I do think my post flop play is far better then my other shots though. For some reason I've clicked on post flop play, I see it when I play NL5, for some reason in this comeback I'm playing more then just preflop. My biggest weakness up to now had always been almost inexistent postflop skills. That didn't hamper me that much in MTTs where I've always gotten far, but it's the reason why I never made it past NL10 in my previous stints playing poker. Fortunately I got my act back up together and min cashed a SCOOP tonight and got very far in a $2.20. Hopefully I can keep my head in this long enough to reach the elusive cash this time around. I wish I had a bigger BR, I think coaching would help. If I reach around $500 BR I think I'll definitely invest in some coaching.
Got a good number of top 3 % of the field finishes in 1000+ player tourneys, basically around 1 out of every 10 tourneys, and ITM in roughly 30% of tourneys.

I've cashed around 6 of around 10 SCOOP I've played lifetime (played the others like 3 or 4 years ago can't remember the exact details). I really seem to have a knack for tournament formats that start will large stacks. I'm probably going to move some money to Full Tilt for "The Stack" tourneys.
I'm beginning to think that I should try to get a coaching + staking deal of some sort. With a little touch of expert advice I'll probably start final tabling instead of getting to the doorstep of the final table.

Minor update. Maybe this is the one. 
Damnit!!! Again! Consistent top 5% finishes, but no good cashes. This is really a sad story. Some really disheartening losses when I needed that double up to take me to the top 1% at least. In $1.10 one, AA vs. AK pfai, sucks out on river. The worse part is that every bust was with a healthy stack, I don't think I busted or got crippled with less then 20 bb in any tourney. In the $1.35 KO, was running like the gods, but then went card dead. Sigh. It really takes a lot of factors alining right to get to a final table. ♠_mad: Only have $21.30 in winnings to show for 5 hours of continuous tourney play and 5 runs deep into tourneys. Really makes you want to cry or break something.

Almost no poker today, a few hands from my phone on NL5 zoom with a very small loss like $2 or 3 lost. And in the last 45 minutes played some Stud, 6 tabling the 0.08 cent tables. Wow. That "Stud Week" promo has "drawn" swarms of fish. In 45 minutes I got my 25 winning hands in just 125 hands played to participate in the $7500 shootout, plus made around $2.50, which in bb/100 hands is a sick 
♠_drink: 100 bb/100 hands profit (no idea if this is how you measure profit in Stud 
). I'm seriously considering grinding these out the whole week in particular during the "happy hours". Gonna test the $0.20 and $0.50 tables tomorrow, but it seems most of the traffic is in the smallest limit, so I might just 10 or 12 table the 0.08's where there is sufficient traffic to massively multitable.
Hadn't played much poker the last few days till tonight. The only thing I had done is complete all the Stud Week challenges to see if I get lucky and hit a BR boost.
So, I decided to give tourneys a break for now. Reaching over 20 top 5% finishes in a week and not having a single good cash to back it is really -EV long term psychologically. Plus, mainly, I don't feel the $0.10's-$1.10's are even worth playing anymore. The fields are just too large to wade for a relatively small potential payout compared to the time spent. Nailing $100 or even $300 for 1st isn't game changing for my BR.
I've come to the conclusion my time will be better spent grinding zoom. When I reach $500 BR I'll go back to maybe having one tourney day a week and playing $3-$5 tourneys only, which have pretty decent payouts ($1K+). When I reach $1000 BR I'll play $3-$10 on my tourney day, plus $1 and $2 rebuys.
Tonight was the first grind on NL 5 Zoom. Pulled an all nighter with 3.4K hands played so far. The screenshot below speaks for itself. A complete demolition. 4 tabling, I have $12.24, $14.10, $19.67, $14.39 respectively, from the original $5 buyin. Up $40.40 for the night (on one table I lost a stack and a bit before starting to make $, so the net profit must be around $33). Which means I've made $ at a 20+bb/100 hands clip. :f_biggrin::f_cool::f_drink: 
So, I'm starting a one month personal challenge, to make at least $300 this month on Zoom NL 5. With that + my current BR I'll start NL10 Zoom in July. In hands I want to reach 50000 hands for the month minimum (1700 per day). And I'm also setting the mini challenge of reaching Silver VIP on Pokerstars for the month. Just need 46 points for that, which should be 1500 hands at most and I still have the rest of today and tomorrow, so that should be no problem. If I play the goal number of hands, at the 1.5 FPP multiplier silver status gives me, I should be able to reach gold status next month, along with hitting the first 4 $10 stellar rewards goals, for an additional $40 BR for the month.
OK. Accomplished my first objective and made a little $ in the process. 1.5K hands so far today, but only with a minor profit. The first 1K hands I was pretty card dead plus I just couldn't get in a single profitable situation post flop. Had to fold my way through those 1K hands and wait for better opportunities. Finally in the last 500 hands starting making money again and recovered the loss I had from so many folds (had lost at least a stack and half in total).
Hope I can post the Gold level message next month.

Really nice short solid midnight session just now. Played 900 hands, up a little more then 4 stacks total. Great start to the week.
Didn't play anything during Monday, except a few hands from my cellphone with a very minor profit (like $2).
Sunday on the other hand was a wild day. Major downer to start off the day, was one of those sessions you just play because there isn't anything more interesting to do a Sunday morning, so I wasn't 100% focused. This had it's consecuences, on a table where I had doubled up, lost my double stack on the silliest post flop play I've done in a while, no idea why, but with a floped straight which because of a shitty turn and river might not have even been the nut straight any more and a relatively small pot in the river, only $1.50 or so, I ended up going broke. Villain shipped to my river reraise of his bet and I autocalled. I didn't even stop to think I had called $8 in a $5 pot without the nuts, that's how on "auto I'm bored" mode I was in. I think I thought he was on trips all the time so didn't analyze the situation well. I'll have to admit villain was the luckiest fish I've faced in a while, plus his play line didn't suggest the hand he had. He had 56s on a 589 flop, I had 67s for a flopped straight. Villain pot bet flop and potted the turn again OOP which was a 10. River was a J. What had happened? Villain got a runner runner flush on the river. So, yeah on a quick look going broke wasn't necessary but wasn't out of the question. As played no one would have thought villain didn't have flopped trips. 
In the worse case one would have thought he had the same straight or had connected a straight with QQ on the river. So this play ended up tilting me briefly. I started potting every cbet and barreling like crazy without even looking at the boards every hand for a couple of minutes. I ended up losing a further 2 stacks after successive $1-$2 losses. So I was down around 4 stacks.
Fortunately there I started turning things around, got my head back in it, but I started using the disinhibition to be more aggresive in some spots ♠_evil: ♠_cool: in particular against the LAG regulars that love 3 betting. I have been rarely playing back since I don't think it's necessary in NL5 to constantly play back to a few agro players, it's better to focus on making money elsewhere instead of getting into problems in 3 bet pots. It worked to perfection, I absolutely raped the agro's, now that I started playing back I finally saw how shallow their play is. In particular calling 3 bets OOP is actually profitable in NL5, just donking out on any board that probably didn't hit their 1 high card makes them fold, it is extremely rare to get reraised. I think they're folding around 70% of the time, calling 20% and reraising less then 10% of the time, making this type of play extremely profitable. And when in position, floating 3 bet pots is also extremely profitable, barely no one is 2 barreling air, most of these "agro" players lines is cbetting flop OOP and check folding turn when not hitting, which obviously is most of the time. I also mixed in some checkraises on flops or turns, plus some flop and turn floats with a reraise or ship on the river on some boards. I had 100% success in all the spots I picked. Although I think I'll refrain from using the check raise or float two streets options a lot, I think that is excessively spewy for NL5. So with this new weapon in my post flop arsenal I went back to my A game, but with a new fost flop line against aggresive players. By the end up Sunday I had made everything back and was even up a buyin for the day after around 3K hands.
I kept following this same line in the short session I just played. I'm up 10 buyins in 4K hands since that low, for an excellent 25bb/100 hands win rate. I have no doubt I can keep this win rate playing this way, I'm definitely making some breakthroughs in postflop play in this comeback, which is what my game always lacked. I'm having growing confidence I'll make it past NL10 this time around. It is no surprise I always got stuck in NL10 in my previous stints. In NL10 you start to see players playing aggresively pre and postflop, post play is necessary. Anyone can destroy NL2 just using a starting hands chart and even beat NL5 with a 5 bb/100 rate using just pre flop play. But NL10 isn't possible to beat with only preflop play.
I'm beginning to shape up a plan of things I plan to review and study.
I'm also adding a small challenge to my challenges. To end a session with $20 (up 3 buyins) on all 4 Zoom tables. I already had a session with $14+ finishes on all 4 tables. And on Sunday I set my table record with almost $25 on one (screen below). so I guess I have to break that record too now.
Short, really, really shitty session. 1.3K hands. A little over 4 buyins lost. Cut the session short because really nothing was happening. My draws weren't hitting, I didn't hit a single trips, all my QQ's and KK's ran into AA's (fortunately the biggest lost was $3 vs. a mid stack), and in general ran into a bunch of sucky setups where I had to fold strong hands because either villain was 3 PFR and potting all streets, or too short to call their turn cbets without being pot committed, my strong draws never hitting and not even having a river bluff card, etc. I'm sure I actually saved 2 or 3 stacks of money making good folds. Just one of those days not a single hand was going your way. The worse thing is that there were a good number of megafish (60+ VPIP) that were sticking around (instead of leaving after their first bust). The best I could do were some iso's with pretty marginal hands, where of course my hands didn't hit shit. And also something really unusual was happening. Preflop allins left and right. It's so rare to see preflop allins in NL5. 
There were at least 20-25 on the tables I was in. The best I ever had was a 22 and an AKo, both which I obviously folded. The craziest thing, about 10 preflop allins where utg or utg +1. Where the fuck is AA and KK when you need it. I got 7 AA and won all the hands, with the biggest pot being $1 , so I'm almost finished with the Zoom challenge for this week. Really looking forward to that tourney. Maybe that's where I'll get my big MTT payout. That's gonna be sick fishy. In conclusion, tomorrow will be another day.
