Hello,

This is kind of beginner question. I apologize in advance if I open this threat in a wrong place.

Anyway... I realize that in HUSNG the shorter stack is an effective stack. The only thing which wonders me is: if villain (he is shorter) raises 3 bb pre-flop, is the effective stack number of his chips plus his raise, or just his stack without raise? Same confuses me with 3bet. If villain 3bets me, is 3bet part of his effective stack? I suppose blinds are not part of the effective stack anymore.

Thank you for your help.

Effective stack is the shortest stack at beginning of hand; if the shortest is 400 chips on 10/20 BB he is 20BB, when he bets 60 chips he has 340 on his own and 60 on pot but the effective stack doesn`t change until he loss or win. You can always win or lose 20BB in this hand.

Whatever is put on table is considered dead money which is your target imo. So if he has 20bb and you 30bb. He opens 3bb then thats considered dead money and eff stack are 17bb.
