May14-15 advanced s&g coaching helemaalnicks/Unam This coaching started a bit messy, because of some technical issues, which didn't get 100% resolved. I'll clean up my computer asap, because that might have been the problem (several heavy programs running at the same time, on a bad cpu, with a full harddisc). I still hope you enjoyed the coaching, and that you learned something about it. It certainly helped that we were coaching together this time, because we got some live discussion from time to time, which is a good thing. interesting hands Ok, I know this is advanced coaching, but I just see this question too often in the forum, even on higher limits. What to do with queens @ the early stages when reraised preflop. Well, it's pretty simple... preflop, queens are the nuts. There are times and places to fold them preflop, but without a read, on some random player, this is the way I play them: Poker Stars, $25 + $2 NL Hold'em Tournament, 10/20 Blinds, 9 Players LeggoPoker.com - Hand History Converter CO: 1,500 BTN: 840 SB: 1,480 BB: 1,500 UTG: 2,180 UTG+1: 1,500 UTG+2: 1,500 Hero (MP1): 1,500 MP2: 1,500 Pre-Flop: (30) Q:club: Q:spade: dealt to Hero (MP1) UTG calls 20, 2 folds, Hero raises to 80, 2 folds, BTN raises to 220, 3 folds, Hero raises to 1,500 and is All-In, BTN calls 620 and is All-In Flop: (1,730) J:spade: 4:heart: 9:spade: (2 Players - 1 is All-In) Turn: (1,730) 6:diamond: (2 Players - 1 is All-In) River: (1,730) 8:heart: (2 Players - 1 is All-In) Results: 1,730 Pot BTN showed 6:spade: A:diamond: (a pair of Sixes) and LOST (-840 NET) Hero showed Q:club: Q:spade: (a pair of Queens) and WON 1,730 (+890 NET)J, 4, 9 (9 players) I showed results so you can memorize this when you're holding queens yourself. Actually, some players are way tighter then this one, but since there is no way you can find this out, and some players still push AQ, AJ, JJ, TT, any pair, and some even any ace, you can't lay these down on any midstaked, and probably even fairly high staked game. This hand is also interesting, because on these limits, you can easily adjust to known regulars, who you know to be good players: Poker Stars, $15 + $1 NL Hold'em Tournament, 100/200 Blinds, 5 Players LeggoPoker.com - Hand History Converter SB: 1,595 Hero (BB): 1,570 UTG: 5,017 CO: 3,318 BTN: 2,000 Pre-Flop: (425) 9:club: K:heart: dealt to Hero (BB) 3 folds, SB raises to 1,570 and is All-In, Hero calls 1,345 and is All-In I knew this villain to be a ps.com member. Actually, she left the coaching just minutes before this s&g started! I know she is pretty good, but also inexperienced, so I expect her not to adjust to this situation. Therefor I know that she pushes any two cards in this spot, because I actually taught her to do that! Since I'm pretty sure I get pushed by any two, and it's 5handed and the icm tax isn't that bad yet, K9o has enough edge against her range to make the call. Plz leave your comment on either the coaching or one of the hands here, and I hope to see you all next week.

i misread the pot odds. Thought it was 1045 for 2400, but it was actually 1045 for 1800.

I would have folded the AQ there, because i think he pushes tight in that spot like AK, QQ+ or maybe JJ or 1010...
Your still in pretty good shape if you fold and usually your up against a better hand, maybe a flip. So i would fold and wait for a better situation.

Thanks for the coaching. Twas great fun!
I hope I'll still have the silver status for the next one because I want to concentrate more on SNG's but still can't beat them as often as I should. I always have to get back to the cash tables to make up for the losses.
