Understanding the problem is half the solution
I think this is something that applies at poker too.
First you have to ask yourself what is success? A lot of money? Love? Family? Power? In my opinion that's a better answer than the one given by dickhead (he is literally a dickhead) in the comic.
its like anything in life you get back what you put in if its hard work and determination you will reap the rewards if its lazy and no effort put in expect not much back out
