Poker Stars $10.00 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players

BTN: $12.20 - VPIP: 21, PFR: 13, 3B: 0, AF: 3,0, Hands: 53
SB: $10.88 - VPIP: 22, PFR: 13, 3B: 11, AF: 4,5, Hands: 68
Hero (BB): $12.01 - VPIP: 21, PFR: 17, 3B: 4, AF: 2,4, Hands: 26193
UTG: $10.00 - VPIP: 22, PFR: 19, 3B: 4, AF: 4,0, Hands: 69
MP: $30.22 - VPIP: 18, PFR: 14, 3B: 10, AF: 5,3, Hands: 229
CO: $11.04 - VPIP: 20, PFR: 15, 3B: 5, AF: 2,7, Hands: 1053

Pre Flop: ($0.15) Hero is BB with A :spade: A :club:
3 folds, BTN raises to $0.20, 1 fold, Hero raises to $0.90, BTN calls $0.70

Flop: ($1.85) K  5 :diamond: 7  (2 players)
Hero bets $1.00, BTN calls $1

Turn: ($3.85) 2 :spade: (2 players)
Hero bets $2.00, BTN raises to $4.20, Hero calls $2.20

River: ($12.25) 8  (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $6.10, Hero calls $5.91 all in

Pre: as we are bit deeper i also raised bit more
Flop: should i bet even more, like 1.40?
Turn: usually we fold aces vs raise right? But this just made no sense to me and i decided to go for it on any river as there is no reason to flat flop and then raise on a brick turn with FD and OESD + i expect him to raise flop with sets as the board is wet
River: excellent card for him to bluff at +he would still have a FE vs me, so as planned i went for a call

Im not sure about this hand so i went with a full tought process, would like to hear your toughts step by step :)

You should've raised bigger otf and 3bet - shove the turn

BU can still slowplay 77/55 OTF, because it's pretty dry board in 3b pot. It's really hard to find bluffs in his range, IMO for you to call turn profitably he has to be really aggro and spewy. As played, he is probably still shoving sets for value vs yours AK,AA and most of his bluff are FD's.

We should fold turn?

Some odd/bad players raise the turn when they miss their flushdraw, but probably not someone who looks like a reg/nit. I don't think villain would always raise the flop with a set either since it's not too wet of a flop to slow play.

you are in a very tough spot OOP, because you cannot fold flop without any clear read min raise or almost otherwise you become extremely exploitable. But with the min raise he leaves you pretty much with half pot OTR. If you raise OTT you pretty much only will be called by better and will fold worse so it is not a good option. If you lead OTR, pretty much the same, and if you check you invite a bet whether for value or as a bluff. So following that thought you should play it as you have. Check the river hoping for a check behind but calling a raise.

Not having position sucks!

I really don't like the logic of calling the turn because "this just made no sense to me". When I can't make sense of the villain's line, I prefer to err on the side of folding, because I have no way of calculating whether I can call profitably. In particular if the villain has an odd line ending in a strong move, I think the strong move is rarely a bluff, because if you're bluffing you take care to make your bluff look reasonable. In fact, in this case I think villain can reasonably slow play a set. Either way, the turn should be a fold.

I think we should stick to the Baluga's theorem and bet/fold the turn, especially after all the action before.

interesting to see mixed opinions again :)

i think this line i took is VERY thin, but then again- he did bluffed me and i won the hand eventually, which proves that there is some value in the way hand was played... :f_confused:

Folding aces in 3bet pot such board seems very weak, villain is only repping super-slowplayed KK, or 77/55. He can have also a draw, air, or weakish made hand that would like cheapish showdown and therefore min-raises IP turn to checkback river. I'm shoving turn.

shoving turn?
you isolate yourself against the strongest part of his range. Basically when he min raises his range is very polarised. bluffs and nuts. if you reraise he gonna fold all his bluffs and call you with the nuts. i think shoving is actually worse than folding in terms of ev.

And that's why it's so easy to earn money from today's regs, ur all too tight it makes the game really straightforward for ya, no money in it.

By shoving we will be vs hands that crush us.
The times he does this as a bluff will not compensate for the times we will lose here.

Not at all. As I said he has other type of hands in his range too than nuts or bluff, and he will call with some of them instead of folding. It's not like you flipped your aces over and showed what you have, it's BTN vs BB and you could be the one with a draw here.

This is a typical spot. The board isn ´t really wet. Besides a flushdraw and an openender with 68s and 46s there isn ´t to much. You both are a little bit deeper. If he would have raised the flop, you probably would have folded. So he calls, and on a save card he raises after you´ve put more money in the pot. And the river call is very bad. The flush got there, you don ´t block the Ah, straiht got there with 46s. You are completly toast. And his obvious set what he has beats you.

i dont think that he is doing this as a bluff or that he is capable to bluff much...he is either missreading the strenght of his hand (Kx holdings) or he is pretty nutted ott. On this hand sample, we may guess that he is fit or fold player imo, big gap beetwen vpip/pfr, didnt 3bet at 53 hands, so he might floped a set here...in game prob. i am not folding the turn, especialy vs this sizing...otr when he gets in on a 8h i think that we are way behind. On a non heart card i would call i think.
