Got myself into this spot during the 3.30 progressive super knockout on pokerstars.
I folded the river because he over called out of position from the small blind (although getting great odds because button called) I thought he would be doing this with small to medium pairs, small through medium aces possibly some medium Kx or Qx hands and suited connectors and maybe some 1 or 2 gapers.
I didn't think he would check call an over 3rd pot bet on the flop and a half pot bet on the turn with just 1 pair unless it was an A but then when he leads the river for the rest of my chips when the flush draw gets there (although it was an under a half pot bet, it also was a lot of his chips) I ruled out just a lone A because if he did have just a pair of aces and thought they were good why not just let me continue "bluffing" and check call the river to which given my SPR and how much I've already invested it stands to reason there is a fair chance I may do. It seemed to me in the moment like the river lead after just check calling twice was pretty strong and he got there on the river with a flush and didn't want me to get away and check back top pair.
After reviewing the hand I think I maybe should have called given how much I invested. There is probably a decent amount of bigger (non-2pair) aces in his hand that he would use the third diamond as a bluff card or maybe even genuinely thought he was good. Also some of the Qx or connector/gaper hands could have turned or rivered a smaller 2 pair. The thought of a set also crossed my mind but I figured it would of HAD to of been a flopped set with pocket 2's because 8's and 6's wouldn't continue past the flop so I think that is too unlikely to really factor in.
Would like to get some feedback and know what anyone thinks of this hand
