I just took 3/6 Tables, because the 5/10 tables were not good, on the tables i finaly found there were several fishes. Especially one guy donated a lot of money, he was like 80/50/2.5/35. He was totally overplaying his hands and i could benfit from it pretty well.

see this one:

In this hand he wasnt raising postflop, it seemed as if he gave me at least some credit, capping over two guys. I thought he would valuebet every pair on the river, because he´s not thinking anyway, so i c/r him giving me one extra bet. he showed QJo.

Against normal opponents i would bet the river.

My good strike in Coachings continues, its the 5th coaching in a row where i had winnings. This Time i played 3/6$ and 5/10$ and won around 300$.
We were talking about the c/r on the river with initiative.
I wrote an article about this topic where you can find examples and explanation when this line can be good and when not: http://de.pokerstrategy.com/strategy/fixed-limit/1334/
At the moment its only available in german, but might be translated soon.

We had some interesting hands:

3/6 Fixed-Limit Hold'em (5 handed)
Hand recorder used for this poker hand: PokerStrategy Elephant 0.60 by www.pokerstrategy.com.

Preflop: Hero is SB with A♣, Q♣
MP3 folds, CO raises, BU folds, Hero 3-bets, BB folds, CO calls.

Flop: (7.00 SB) 8♥, 6♠, 8♣ (2 players)
Hero bets, CO calls.

Turn: (4.50 BB) 3♥ (2 players)
Hero bets, CO calls.

River: (6.50 BB) K♥ (2 players)
Hero bets, CO calls.

Final Pot: 8.50 BB

This is a great spot for a valuebet on the river with A-high. my opponent was a tag. The K is therefore a blank, because he would have foldet K high hnds on the Turn and cappt AK preflop. a pair he would have raised earlier.
These assumptions lead to his handrange: A-high hands!
he would never bluff these hands if i check but could call if he had AJ and AT, thats why i have to bet the river.

He had AJ.

Preflop: Hero is BU with 8♥, A♣
CO folds, Hero raises, SB 3-bets, BB folds, Hero calls.

Flop: (7.00 SB) 8♠, T♠, 8♣ (2 players)
SB bets, Hero calls.

Turn: (4.50 BB) K♥ (2 players)
SB bets, Hero raises, SB 3-bets, Hero caps, SB calls.

River: (12.50 BB) J♣ (2 players)
SB bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 14.50 BB

On the River my opponent is donking again. if he is not an idiot he will always have KK or TT here, thats why i just called. in fact he had 89, i have no freaking idea what he is putting me on, i would not cap one worse hand on the turn.

Happy New Year!

In this Session i was playing 2 5/10 Tables and 1 3/6, that were pretty good. The Session was around break Even..

In the following Hand i have an interesting decision on the Turn and on the River:

5/10 Fixed-Limit Hold'em (6 handed)
Hand recorder used for this poker hand: PokerStrategy Elephant 0.60 by www.pokerstrategy.com.

Preflop: Hero is CO with 7♠, 7♣
2 folds, Hero raises, 2 folds, BB calls.

Flop: (4.50 SB) 2♦, 4♠, T♣ (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, BB raises, Hero calls.

Turn: (4.25 BB) T♥ (2 players)
BB bets, Hero calls.

River: (6.25 BB) 2♠ (2 players)
BB bets, Hero raises, BB calls.

Final Pot: 10.25 BB

Villain shows A4

The Question is if i should just call down, raise the Turn (what against 3bet?) or raise the river.

I decided to not raise the Turn. I think in his range their are T´s (that got less likely), 2x, 4x, 33,55 and Pure Bluffs. I can hardly raise worse hands than a T on the Turn, this polarizes my range. I am scared that he therefore could 3bet the turn as a bluff, which i think is more unlikly on the river.
This is 1 reason why I delayed, but i´m not sure if my argument is good.

Hi, today i played 2 tables 3/6 and 1 Table 5/10. All tables were mediocre, some fishes, some tags. The Session was pretty boring, just not happening much. In the Ende i was winning 75$.

Todays Coaching was a little bit boring, there were almost no interesting hands, no big pots and no very interesting decisions. I won 130$ or so, btw the 5th or 6th coaching in a row without losses- nice.

Here we have one hand where the river is close:

Known players:
[tg]Position_Stack:hands/vp$ip/RaisePreflop/AF/WTS/ORL/BBvsSteal/W$SD;Hero$123.00:///////;BB$348.50:81/41 /25 /2.0/55 /39 /-/76 ;BU$174.00:238/43 /18 /1.7/45 /23 /18 /51 ;[/tg]
3/6 Fixed-Limit Hold'em (5 handed)
Hand recorder used for this poker hand: PokerStrategy Elephant 0.67 by www.pokerstrategy.com.

Preflop: Hero is SB with K♥, 4♥
2 folds, BU calls, Hero calls, BB checks.

Flop: (3.00 SB) 4♦, Q♣, 2♦ (3 players)
Hero bets, BB calls, BU folds.

Turn: (2.50 BB) 2♠ (2 players)
Hero bets, BB calls.

River: (4.50 BB) 5♣ (2 players)
Hero bets, BB calls.

Final Pot: 6.50 BB

Results follow (highlight to see):
Hero shows two pairs, fours and deuces (Kh 4h)
BB shows two pairs, fours and deuces (4s 3c)

Hero wins with two pairs, fours and deuces (Kh 4h)

c/c against a busted fd or valuebet against a worse 4? generally i think its better to valuebet thin especially on a little bit higher limits my impression is, that less people make bad bluffs, but still a lot of people make bad calls.
This time he had 34o.

In the End we had a discussion about what it takes to play for a living and i have the opinion that it feels much better if you have another fixed income, for a better feeling when playing.
