PokerStars - $0.02 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: 46.5 BB (VPIP: 0.00, PFR: 0.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 5)
SB: 98.5 BB (VPIP: 0.00, PFR: 0.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 5)
BB: 100 BB
UTG: 124.5 BB (VPIP: 100.00, PFR: 0.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 1)
MP: 296.5 BB
Hero (CO): 151 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has J♦ A♦

UTG calls 1 BB, MP raises to 2 BB, Hero raises to 8 BB, BTN calls 8 BB, fold, fold, fold, MP calls 6 BB

Flop: (26.5 BB, 3 players) 4♦ 9♥ Q♦
MP bets 12 BB, Hero calls 12 BB, BTN raises to 38.5 BB and is all-in, fold, Hero calls 26.5 BB

Is this call wrong? Opponent was kind of fishy, and then I find this stupid calls.

Hmm, with a range like this OTF

You have this result:

Board: Q♦4♦9♥
       Equity     Win     Tie
CO     60.87%  59.87%   0.99% { AdJd }
BU     39.13%  38.14%   0.99% { 22+, A9s+, A5s-A2s, K9s+, K4s, Q4s+, J7s+, T7s+, 96s+, 87s, A9o+, A4o, K8o+, Q8o+, J8o+, T7o+, 97o+, 87o }

Notice the wide range I gave villain. I'd say a fold with a 60/40 at best. What do you guys think?

Let's debate and win prices at the end of the month :f_drink: :f_biggrin: :f_tongue:

I think you have the odds to call. For me this is a easy call.

Hard to estimate BTN's range without any stats. Do you have any?

In general this is a pure odds call vs. the midstack. We get almost 3:1 here, need 29% Equity. Putting just a very tight range of AQ, KQs, and sets in his range it's just a super easy All-In, you can't fold here.

Board: 4♦9♥Q♦
       Equity     Win     Tie
MP2    35.54%  35.54%   0.00% { AdJd }
MP3    64.46%  64.46%   0.00% { 99, 44, AQs, KQs, AQo }

Nice one. Indeed, the odds are attractive.

That is an insane range, did your cat walk across the keyboard when you had Equilab open? Also if you think you're a 60% favourite against a range you should probably be calling...

Yeah overdid it a bit, sorry. I just thought because he says that that person was kind of fishy so didn't want him to give too much credit. However, 'too much' gave me a bit too much enthusiasm to go all out. I must be overworked here... I also agree now with MisterSnS and already following his blog. Will be ok with me in time ;)

It is a mathematically trivial call. You get 77 to 26.5 to call. Round it to 75:25 with negligible error. His range is immaterial. Maybe you have a super-marginal fold versus a range of sets only, don't know, but it doesn't matter in practice.
