When i start HM2 it doesn't start properly.A wizard appears , i hit next then there is a window which says : click start service .When i do this i get an error message :
ERROR : There was an error starting the service postgresql-8.4.Please manually investigate the problem.
What should i do ?

If postgresql was already running before please try this:
Solutions:
1. Reboot your computer
2. If that doesn't help look for the hidden system file postmaster.pid in the postgresql data folder, delete it and reboot your computer again.
3. Check the postgresql service in the windows services (control panel->administration). Sometimes it helps to change the Logon As.. to "local system account"

If you are trying to install it and it fails please download and install postgresql 8.4 from www.postgresql.org. If that fails too we need more details about the error and your system.
i did all of the above thats why i created the thread.

I click "retry connection" and i get this error message :
ERROR : Can't connect to PostgreSQL (wrong server,port or firewall enabled ? ).Click "retry connection to try again".
Ok finally i fixed it.I had changed my windows logon at start (which i had to put password to log in) to log in automatically (now windows start whithout asking me for password).I had to change the logon of postgreSQL .
This is how i did it :
>go to : Control Panel\System and Security\Administrative Tools\services
>double click postgreSQL-8.4 - postgreSQLserver -8.4
>click Log on tab and click "Local system account"
> Reboot

I will have a remote session this week with HM2 to fix my SQL problem. Would you like me to record it and link it somewhere in these threads? Seems many people have trouble with the SQL in HM2..
I am not in the position to tell you where to publish this.
