Hello everyone!
I have now decided to introduce myself and whilst going back to play some poker I considered having some more acitvity/participation over here to learn more things, since my poker has become rusty over the years.
I am a guy in the mid-twenties from Germany and I have been playing poker over years.
It's not that I have been playing for the money only, but also the fun, but I have certainly been interested into the prices of course.
And although I have purchased PT for example, I have always been lacking some seriousness or consistency to actually be a good player.
About 7 years ago I bought some books about poker and read them, played some games online and in real life as well.
I have been playing at pokerstars for a long time since I appear to love their software the most. It doesn't seem as crappy as Ipoker software and it is not as overwhelming as such. Just more puristic and calm.
Anyway, I have played many tournaments in reallife and have been quite succesful with that small tournaments that took place in cafés or places similar to that. In most of these tournaments you could only win material prices or tickets to casino tournaments.
In general I would say that I prefer reallife poker over online poker, but it has its attractions as well for obvious reasons.
What I have always struggled with is to find myself being consistant and calm, because I have often felt this gambling feeling which was making a even worse player of me. For example I was aware of bad decision, but I kept making them just because I didn't feel well or I decided not to care about it in that moment. I cared later then, when I saw the results.
I have invested relatively much money but in the end I can't even guess how much I have lost, earned, or if I am somewhere about break even.
Probably somewhere with a small win.
My biggest, personal wins were a 3rd or 4th place in a big 4$ tournament at PS, which took me many hours of excitement.
It was somewhere at 1000 $ cash and I wish I won it nowadays, with the current rate of dollar and €:profit:.
Anyway, in reallife my biggest 'success' was a tournament win for about 1000€ which was a huge joy for me.
Besides these wins, I have often deposited money and lost it, because I lacked consistancy, patience, BRM or knowledge.
On top I often played when I felt terrible or had fights in real life, which appears to never be a good idea.
Lately, I have not been playing poker.
Basically because I hate the most softwares and some time ago I honestly excluded myself from PS for half a year because I was tilting a lot.
Anyway, I want to approach this topic again in a better way, to teach myself some things that I lack, like patience and consistency.
Maybe some people of you recognize yourselfs in my words and have tips for me how to do that, how to manage these problems and which pokerroom/strategy might work for me.
Let's talk about some things besides poker:
I have a half-time employment, love music, dancing, gaming(lol player since first season) and going for a walk with dogs from the shelter.
I feel responsible for these and other animals, as they're abused by human race on a daily basis(a nice movie about that topic: http://www.earthlings.de/)
In matter of music I have a widely spread taste.
Here some examples:
Have a nice time!
