Every year watching the London Marathon makes me want to get back on it. Having said that watching it from bed with a cup of tea and a bacon sandwich at the moment :) wife is away for the day otherwise I would never get away with it. Monday always seems like a good day to start afresh.

Played a few sng and MTT with little success, think I might go and study a bit, think I just got ul but know I didn't play my best but might be nice to find out the real reason for the results.

Ok spent a bit of time sorting my HUD out. It is important how it looks to me as i just see it as eye pollution. Has to be the right size, colour, font, can't overlap cards or buttons, must be symmetrical and as important it must not get in the way. I have it somewhat how i like it but now need to add some more useful stats and info for me. Which mean adjusting all again although no rush as i have gotten this far without one.

Played 2 session of micro 45 man's.

Session one. Played 18 games with 14 going at any one times. The idea i did have previously but Moshman mentioned it also so has to be good. Play more tables than comfortable with and then when you play less it feels more comfortable. As i think you guys know volume is always an issue for me and it did get a little hectic for a few mins. I was trying to take my time ish, look at the HUD and the situation and make correct decisions but it was manageable. When i was down to 6 it was really comfortable not some thing i would have previously said. Played stacked BTW

Any way after about an hr or so i was down to 6/8 tables and was not going particularly well but managed to turn it round for a nice little profit with a roi in the low 90's hehehehehe. Although to finish the session off it did get close to the 2 hr mark.

Session two. Was just 4 tables tiled but this time studying HUD and making a few plays using the info contained within, busted one early so loaded another to have the 4 in play, this did seem very slow and was tempted to load another 4 to sit behind, but had a plan and stuck to it. Again turned a nice little profit just a 75% roi this time .. wtf

So in summary, i feel that with a few more session 1 types my table count should increase significantly. Session 1 is volume trg and session 2 is reading trg so i will continue to do a combo of both session over the coming days.

No targets, no pressure just fun :)

Played another session type 1, ffs computer tilted at 15 tables running had to close down HEM and restart PC twice. No drama though got 2 FT still.

Got HU 4 times. twice with big chip lead they just could not miss and when i milked them they got there. Still be wrong to moan, sample size ftw :)

Type 1 session. 30 games tonight, loaded until 12 running and as i bust loaded another. Loaded for 75 mins and session finish bang on 2hrs.

Playing 50 cents sng's and down 11 Bi's , ITM was low at 13% but when i checked all exit hands i just got ul so no biggie. In fact when checking every exit hand i was reasonably happy how they occurred and can only put 1 down to the amount of tables i was playing as that was not an normal exit route for me. 3 FT one bubble on 5th and one shipped.

If i am to continue doing this i will have to get one of the auto load programmes as it is a pain loading fresh tables when getting buzzed at. I tried the table ninja trial and i didn't like it to much, think the other alternative is sharkystrator or something like that.

At one point i had 14 tables going as i had pre-empted being short in a few of them, the door bell rang insistently and the wife was in the bath. Tables buzzing all over the place whilst chatting to the person at the door about a dog on the loose :) Still all good training.

I loved not watching the bad beats and if auto load was on felt i could play a few more although tbf i was just a monkey pressing keys and the use of HUD was minimal but hey ho this type of session is only for building up tolerance.

Probably post a graph every 100 games or so initially and see where we go with this.

Last night a 2hrs session 20 completed had 18 going at one time, down 12 bi.

Played with Sessionlord but as per my life with tech any way didn't work for me ... more lost time sorting it.

14 to go for first 100 and start of a new month so lets go.

Play more than 50 in one day

Get Session lord working correctly for me
More work put into HUD

So the first week of the month has finished as far as i am concerned in that i have reached the targets i set. So i will use the rest of this week to review play.

Been playing 50 cents sng 45/90/180/360 man the odd 45 man $1.50 and a $8 man 180 for a treat :)

200 sng's ending in profit (Monitor total hours) Done
Play more than 50 in one day Done Played 80
3 runs Had 2 so far two more booked with Son and Daughter for Wed and Thu
Get Session lord working correctly for me Done
More work put into HUD Done what i wanted to get done a bit more is ongoing

Some graphs
All under $1.50 for the 200

Graph with lucky 180 bink :) Obviously this one off game (2 actually) skews data but fun none the less.

Graph with Under $1.50 played since starting this and the one i will likely use as the building point.

Thought that arose because of this session:

Hours The time i spent playing is just not efficient i will have to work out how to get to the end of the session with more tables going. I often found myself with 2 left for the last hr or so. The start is also slow to get upto 12 tables or so.28 hrs play in 5 days and study on top of that

Games Need to cross over different formats to get the table count up to speed and continuous through the whole session. I put a few none turbos in and played one of them for an hr after the rest had finished. That won't work. I think i maybe able to add some none turbos at the beginning of session.. i will do some more work on length of tourneys generally.

Play Was poor as can be expected i suppose but when you see it a lot, the mind boggles. The play is very bad but i just need them from getting there.

Hud Getting there i have it up all the time, use it rarely obviously able to use it more when fewer tables left but form an eye pollution POV it is acceptable.

Pain. Wrist aches a lot so started to use a hot key for FOLD, but need to get this addressed now as i could see it being an issue.

HM2 Enjoying using it and so yes extra time has been spent off the tables, just scratching the surface of this though. I run a quick filter to check every exit hand as clearly this is a key part of the game and something i can very quickly review.

SessionLord Is vey good with some glitches but really does what i want for it loading of tables and the like so takes that one job away from me which was an issue in game.

Table count Played 12-16 tables at a time and i felt that with a little more practice this could increase a chunk. Not bad for a 1-3 table warrior. And you definitely have more time that you think you do. Stacking FTW
Don't see bad beats, but i am still often tempted to try and find a hand later to see how it went :( will sort that out.

ICM Need to do some ICM work asp, sure i am playing a few spots wrongly. ( confirmed on last session when FT on 2 as CL and exited early.... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr)

Any way going to take a few hrs to think of next weeks challenge but deffo going to be more quality rather than quantity and focussed on study rather then playing. SCOOP coming up to so need to factor that in.

Cliffs

Playing 80 in a day is awesome
200 in 5 days is also cool
28 hrs not so cool
Profit
Sorted some software issues out

Hi Steve,

First time I've checked this in a while and good to see you're back here and look like you're giving it a good go!

I'm currently spazzing about playing different formats on many platforms when I get a minute. I'm studying counselling part time and of course now have a baby, 8 months old already!

Hope you and yours are well mate, keep it up. I will be back!

John

Hi guys,

Will make a post sometime soon, but just wanted to pop my head inside my room and give it a hoover over.

Been very busy with a house move which needs a total refurbishment, and part way through it now, life is good and have played 4 games on Stars this year already :) Maybe 6 more on other sites, yup volume FTW.

Lovely to pop in and see who is still around , win the lot guys.

Hi guys a small update as promised.

I started off by reading my Blog from the first page was fun but after 6 pages enough already. But what I really did like was the interaction by a few lovely people on it and some kind words which was nice.
So i will attempt to make a post every now and then just to touch base with those that are still on it and see how we get on.

Poker

Played next to none from about the middle of last year, no particular reason, just busy with the real world and i suppose a little bored.

As someone said on here poker will always be there when i fancy getting back into it..... Maybe that might not be the case in the future, been an interesting time with all the stars fanny arsing about, more to follow me thinks.

Anyway, had about $9 on stars played a few 25 cents spins got it up to $20, give myself a treat of 5x $1 spins, and stayed on the $1's until my massive roll dropped back to $15, then like all of us i had a moment of total craziness weeeeeeeeeeennhehehe lol BRM FTW and had a go at the mighty $3 spin.... About 2 mins later and with $12 bad boys left in the kitty of to the 25 cents we go. Grinded that (lol me grinded) that all the way down to $7 with the roll currently at....$20 bad boys. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr so back at the $1's for my 5 shot :) if and when i get to $30 i will have a well thought out logical spin on a $3.

All exciting stuff eh, edge of seat stuff, pro in the house :) Obviously just messing about but they are fun.

TwitchTV . Love it, watch loads of different guys, i don't learn much as most of the time what they do i always feel that i would do LOL but great for a poker voyeur like me.

Real life

Obviously the important stuff.

My roll of grandchildren has increased and now stands at 7, i am sure that this figure is going to hold because i am quite frankly all in.

They take up a massive part of my time and energy and i would not change a second of it, but my god they are tiring especially as i have to work really hard to maintain my ROI at keeping my title of the "Best Grandad there has ever been" , not my words :)or a 50/60 salary reduction

I have changed jobs with a 50/60% salary reduction (Gulp) off set by my Teaching and Army pensions. I love my job as a Maintenance Technician in a care home.
(i know it sounds like Handy man and to some degree it is but is also a lot more than that). I look after a 120 bed room building; do what i want when i want as long as it is done, so absolute flexibility.

The work is generally with in my skill set, but can call in specialist if needed for our boiler and the like, but besides this i do the rest.

The staff are wonderful and the residents who all have dementia are absolutely adorable. The manager, staff and residents appreciate all i do and there is rarely say when someone doesn’t say a heart felt thank you to me, i sometimes think that i have the best job in the world ( until i see my wage slip, but whatever ( 25 cent spins FTW)).

The biggest news is we have moved house and with this move we are now mortgage free, have a nice chunk of capital to play with and each month a good chunk of disposable income.

To do this i bought a house that needed a lot of work done to it and have been grinding my arse off on it every free minute. My wife wanted it all done in a month FAF, i told her 6/12 months, she put me on my arse with a right hook and i checked my figures again. New target.... “hit me again wife 6/12 months, but aim for 6” :)

We now at the end on month 2, well a week past and i guess i have about 1 more months work on it, so should be just over 3 months. I truly never expected it to take a year but better to build a bit of fat into the system.

TBF i have done what i said i would never do which is rush the job and somethings will need redoing in slow time next year but we couldn’t live on a building site much longer. Any way that will be finished soon and that i can start to enjoy what my wife calls semi-retirement. I will then revisit poker and have a little play at it.

Ok so that is about it for now, gl guys not that you need it you guys got the skills.

Regards

Steve

Oh yes, fitness.. Well over a year ago I did Insanity and lost just over a stone ( not all down to Insanity as had started running again) most of that is back on again no shock there, I have just bought T25 from the same guys as I and intend to get on that in about a months time.

Played a few spins down a bit, they are fun and bite size.
