Another fun week of spins grinding and studying with my friend IvicaIliev77. It feels very refreshing to learn a new format, especially such a fun one. So, regarding my plans for the future, if nothing bad happens to my bankroll till the end of the month, in April, I’m going to try to put in a massive grind and go for Platinum on Stars, which is about 3250 tourneys. I’ve never grinded so much in my life, and anything can happen. I guess IvicaIliev77 succeeded in turning me into a grinder. I will make a plan for this challenge and post it when the time comes.

Had a very rough week on $7, but I guess I have to get used to it if I’m going to grind spins. Which I am, because they are so much fun and easy to grind. As I’ve said earlier, we are going to do a Spins Challenge with IvicaIliev77. He has already started his and I’m going to join him in April. This last week impacted my confidence a bit and showed me that there are a lot of areas I need to learn, since this is a new format for me and I have never studied any SNG format or shortstacked poker for that matter. That’s why for the time being I will be grinding $3 stakes (which got the worst rake increase!). My goal for the Challenge will be to grind at least 4000 games in April. I’ll start with $3 and if the variance is good move to $7 somewhere in the middle of the grind. The main point of this challenge is to get comfortable with spins and see whether I’m beating them on a decent sample. If I make money playing Spins and move to $7 the next step is to make that a monthly volume (and increasing it a bit) and go for the Supernova till the end of the year. That will be one heck of a grind, but on the other hand a very nice and refreshing challenge.

Today was the first day of my April Spins challenge. I was two-tabling all the way and it seems that I will need to add a third table if I want to make my 4k goal until the end of the month. I was playing on 3 tables last week, but it significantly affects my focus and it feels like I’m dropping a couple % of roi by adding that table. Hopefully, I will get more comfortable with spins soon enough and be able to increase the daily volume. Nevertheless, here are the results of the first day:

Today I started grinding well after lunchtime but still managed to put in around 6 hours of grind. The main problem for me now is that with this amount of grind my game and focus significantly deteriorate towards the end. Tomorrow I will try to do more breaks and see how it goes. Overall, I'm happy with my game, I feel much more confident since switching back to two-tabling. Hopefully I will soon get back to $7 and continue my challenge there.

What a funny day. Couldn’t put in as much grinding as I wished, because of work and family stuff, but I did grind some and that was some hot running above EV. Now that I’ve been grinding for a couple of days I can tell that I really overestimated number of tourneys I can play per hour on two tables. My initial estimation was to play 17-18 games per hour two-tabling, but in reality this number seems closer to 14. Therefore, it seems that in a week or so I need to add that third table to catch up on the planned volume. I really hope I will be able to maintain my focus while doing that.

On the bright side, today we did a very helpful review session with IvicaIliev77 and found many spots in my game that need urgent attention, otherwise they will cause me a lot of trouble, especially when I switch to 3-tables. So now I will have to find time to work on those areas as well, but studying and plugging leaks is of course one of the most important aspects of poker and I’m sure it will all pay off at the end.

Not the most productive day. Started grinding a bit tired and it didn’t go so well, so I decided not to push it and instead worked a bit on improving the HUD in PT4. I have never used it before, so it took me some time to figure out how all the custom stats work, but in the end I managed to create a simple 3-max HUD for spins that does the job.

Tomorrow I will have to work for at least half a day, so I doubt I will be able to put a decent volume, but I will definitely try. Cause I need to do some catching up.

Haven’t played a single tournament today :f_love:. Worked during the first half of the day and decided to spend the rest of the day with family and refresh. But the grinding continues tomorrow!

Today grind didn’t start very well, because my posgresSQL crashed on me, and I had to waste a lot of time fixing my tracker. But I still managed to put in some volume and even shoot some $7, which didn’t go so well, but eventually they will. Regarding the grind, I feel like I need to spend a bit more studying, since I’m making a lot of mistakes, but on the other hand, I want to put as much volume as possible to even out a bit the variance of spins. But we’ll see. I’m really enjoying grinding them, and that’s what matters.

Today was a very productive day, but unfortunately not for poker. I’m still adjusting my game to find a good approach to spins, and I feel like in certain spots my game became better (at least I feel it did, whether it’s true remains to be seen). Also, I started 3-tabling and my red line hasn't dropped as a result as I have feared. Hopefully now I will be able to put in more volume and play those games till the end of April. Not neglecting study of course.

Missed yesterday’s update because I was sick and spent almost whole day lying in the bed. So I didn’t grind at all. Quite an interesting day. First session went kinda bad, but after that we took a look at my game with IvicaIliev77 and I made some drastic adjustments, which seem to work nicely. Of course the sample is small, and I did lose some money in the end. But I feel like in the second half of the day I’ve played some of the best poker in recent memory.
