Hm. I don't mind donking flop, but I am genuinely surprised to see this advice, it is unusual. I could believe that we are a bit result-oriented (he checked back), but I don't really believe that:).

Absolutely. I am happy to see the good arguments. They are unusual though. Donking has acquired a stigma (fishy) the last 10 years. But this is good. We want to appear as fishy as possible here.

Generally, correct me if I'm wrong, NL5 players are playing fit or fold in 3bet pots, but they tend to cbet, I wanted to see the cbet in case he had air. But I have to agree with the donk, because it gets called/raised lot of times.

You can also bet flop. He will raise if he has hit strong, call with medium hits and draws and fold those hands he would check behind. So you basically get the same info + more value. By checking you let his bluff combos (speculative hands, much suited connectors) see a free card.

You are right about villains making a lot more cbets. We just gave you an alternative. Not many here will teach you donking but if used wisely it will make you money.

4bet Get it in preflop bvb for sure

Whatever is actually best on the flop (as played) depends much on the stack sizes. One reason that donking is "unusual" advice is quite rational given normal stacks; with a check-raise on the flop, all money goes in "naturally" without us having to make "unnatural" bets, either in size or "out of sequence". Things change with much smaller or bigger stacks, where donking may objectively give the biggest chance of getting stacks in.

Most strategic advise is based on 100bb stacks, and here the check-raise with nuts is probably never very bad. I personally donk mostly for exploitation purposes (reg gets upset - whut? - donk? - "I have TP and a donk is always weak" or "fish must pay to draw" -> big raise).

I should remember the part about stack sizes...
However, I started experimenting with donks and I like it.
