BB 32/14 3bet 0 - 31 hands
This is his first 3bet, should I just call instead of 4betting? But its such a small sample size....
Should I have 4bet smaller and folded?
When he 5bets it has to be KK+, but can I fold?

Promise I have not clicked the "spoiler" button yet but every time I read your comments about the opps range I feel I 95% know what the opp had which I think prejudices my analysis. :f_biggrin:
Anyway I don't mind flatting preflop to keep his weaker hands like AQ/AJs/TT-JJ in the range.
In about 58% of flops you won't see A and K and since his range I pretty capped to the top 3-4% he won't bluff profitably postflop coz if we take all possible flops and put them against his preflop range, our opp will be 40/60 behind. This means that if he continues with his whole range everytime he will be loosing over the distance.
If we dig into this situation you get an opportunity to see a cheep flop in position and let the opp try to get you out of the hand when he misses. You are certainly never folding OTF where there no A or K appeared and occasionally calls when it happens to reevaluate on later streets. I don't think that passive opp would bluff on all streets in either case so you can save yourself some chips and stay in the game if he shows aggression OTT or OTR.

I don't think my analysis is perfect so far but I think I will come to this question some time later with an experience and new thoughts.

With your 4bet sizing you can’t fold either. I would most likely 4bet smaller in position. 900 is good enough I think, but even than I wouldn’t fold QQ in a 5 handed game for 35bb effective against him. He could shove some worse hands as well I think. So I think this is a cooler.

Cheers,

Would you ever cold call here?

Not too often, but in position it’s indeed a pretty good option.
Of course there are a decent amount of bad flops for us.

Thats what I was thinking at the time but on reflection
is he capable of 5 betting anything other than QQ+, AK+? its probably just KK+
I'm not even sure he 3bets JJ, TT, 99, AQ, AJ

He needs to 3bet JJ+,AQo+ for my QQ to have a slight advantage - 50.3%
I'm not sure if many people will 3bet/call with worse here and seeing as this is his first 3bet, it doesn't look like hes a 3bet bluffer

If I call his 3bet IP at least I can get away from it if there is an A or K OTF

You still have a small sample on him so I would not haste to exclude those hands from his 3bet range yet.

It is true about the sample size, I read that for the 3bet stat t mean anything you need 1000+ hands, which kind of makes it pointless having it on my HUD at all.

He had limped and open limped a few times, and hadnt been raising overly either which is obviously the opposite of an aggressive player.

I think I'm going to try some different things, because every time I get 3 or 4bet I think they must have KK+, then convince myself they have 99+, AJ+, but they dont, they always have KK+.......:f_o:
