Hello everyone!

This is the very first hand of the tourney, i have no reads on my opponent, but probably a recreational player based on his line.

My first thought was a set, but why would he do that with a set? I also thought about TT-JJ, if he's a fun player, he may overcall Jacks, I don't know, but definitely not aces or kings.

I've also seen people go crazy with pocket pairs when they miss, so he can also be desperate with eights perhaps. I couldn't think of him shipping a draw, or ace high, only these second pair+ types of hands.

But on the other hand, this is the very first hand. Do you think it's worth the risk, because I have no idea about this guy, or simply let it go and look for a better spot?

This is indeed a weird line of villain here to over shove the flop, but I wouldn’t gamble that soon with so much chips still behind with QQ against a unknown. A other thing I would do is to 3bet more pre-flop. You can easy make it 1.250 against 2 callers for value.

Cheers,

Could you tell what villain showed down?

Sure, it was 75o. To be honest, I couldn't even think of 2 pair, after calling a 3bet pre OOP, but i guess it's a thing.

That’s complete insane. That it’s a note for sure that’s he capable to blow up his stack with middle pair in a 3bet pot.

I see, but even than is 97 a weird hand to call a 3bet with I think. He has most likely more often a set here and off course is shoving on flop with a set a little bit weird.
