It was entirely self inflicted. I was playing cash games higher than my bankroll could handle. Made it a lot more swingy hence big jump at the start followed be the sharp drop. Lack of discipline also played a part, hit my stop loss and rather than stopped double down and made the situation worse.

Think will try some low level grinding and playing the €11 bounty everyday as so far I have made profit on that throw just the bounties.

I still have £250 deposit bonus to clear so some small grinding will give profit even if I just stay even.

Need to keep in mind that it is just a hobby and not get carried away with the money.

So after another day or so of a break going to deposit another £100 or so then just slow grind it. And this time take note of all that I have read about bank roll management being one of the most important things to keep in mind.

Edit:
Thinking about it my mental game is my biggest leak right now so thought I would read "The mental game of poker". First is about what people who think tilting/losing is random, has about 5 quotes and all of them nail how I was feeling when I was losing. Hopefully reading this should plug that massive leak and I can get back to improving my playing.

Edit: This is really getting frustrating, I play well for a while. Then get into a situation in tournaments where I need to go all in due to size of blinds and all 4 tournaments today when I did that I ran into pocket aces. Then played 40 mins of cash games and ran into pocket aces 3 times.... does everyone just always get AA or something :(

Day 18 25/08/2016

So I have gone away and been reading "The mental game of poker". My biggest problem has been when I get tilted I keep throwing good money after bad. So far this book has really helped me notice what is setting me off, and how to control myself when it happens.

I have also dropped down to NL10 after having to redeposit for some more bank roll. My current plan is to keep grinding whilst learning the ranges for the different positions. If I can keep roughly equal I shall be profiting as I am still unlocking the welcome bonus that I got.

I have managed to 2,600 hands yesterday and today, and even though the graph is heading negative I am pretty happy with the results. In general I have been playing pretty solid, however the odd mistake has kept me going negative. As when I have made a mistake it is normally pretty costly one. The positive to this is unlike previously where I would start spiralling losing more money. I have kept it together and got back to playing "good" poker. So just need to cut out the stupid calls and stop getting wedded to my pocket pairs and hopefully I'll see an improvement.

I have also started sharing hands for feedback, these are hands that I lost but I don't feel I played to bad. This was to find out if I was doing the wrong play or just got unlucky on that occasion.

Day 20

Been practising more with micro ranges, and today was my first positive day. I am starting to get better at remembering the ranges and that is helping me avoiding the wrong situations after the flop. I still have a few mistakes when I couldn't get away from hands I knew where worse, but I it is getting better. I have also put in a much larger volume then I normal would.

Graph for the last few days. I have also unlocked £25 in welcome bonus so my balance hasn't changed too much.

So after getting rivered 4 times in a row all in and then spewing the last of my BR on tilt I have decided to start a fresh on 01/09/2016. This time with more concrete goals and a much more strict BR management. Also heard a good quote yesterday on pokerstaples stream "Focus on the input rather than the output". Which sums up what I have been finding difficult, i'll do the right play and still lose, such is poker.

So on the 01/09/2016 I am going to deposit £50, but leading up to that I am going to set many short/medium/long term goals to mark progress. Also set a more structure approach to study. I am also going to try and separate learning poker from the money so will be doing the blog but not the BR challenge. I don't plan on playing poker to make money as currently get well paid for my job so don't really need it, but more just something I enjoy and want to be better at. So watch this space
