i thought i didn't have much to protect from so i just called the flop . King of hearts was a scarecard so i just checked for pot control and river he could be trying to buy the pot but this potsized bet looked like he was trying to get value that he lost by not betting the turn . opponent was 58/46 on 24 hands.

Raise the flop

I play on GGpoker even though it says Pokerstars. None of my hand histories will have villain stats.

I think you need to raise flop to protect against overcards and flush. Also for info and value from lower pp. This is a must vs loose players who love to chase draws.

You should bet turn since you dont want to see another heart on the river.
If he's passive(lots of loose players are), and he raises turn or pot bets river, I would fold my 2nd pair since he could have anything with 58/46: K, 4, flush, 55, 77, even straight is possible lol.

By protecting your hand you can safely fold turn to a raise, or river to a pot bet. You can get value and be in control of the action this way, risking basically the same amount you lost here.

Preflop: OK
Flop: I'd raise here to protect from flushdraw and fold to a raise.
Turn: Check/Fold.
River: Check/Fold.
