The isolation raise is to big in my opinion. Than you can better shove right away. I would raise maximum 1k with a 16,5bb stack, but in most cases it’s better to over limp with 44 on a passive table and play for set value. Now you need to fold with more than 1/3 of your stack invested.

Cheers,

With 17BB I'd either limp/fold or open shove, depending on how the table is playing. If its a table full of people who continually open limp then I shove

Agreed. I think shove > limp > fold > raise
Especially in 1$ donkaments ppl will not fold too easily on your isolation raise so you invested 1/3 of you stack in a pot which you'll more than often have to give up on the flop. That being said, donks usually don't want to play for all your chips so if you shove you will get a decent amount of folds and if they call with overcards you're ahead and I'm fine taking a flip with a 17bb stack.

Also, if you get folds, you increase your stack with 800 chips which is very good with a 3.3k stack.

Thank you for your help so far. I reall appreciate it.

You say that in such tournaments they dont fold too easily to iso-raises.
Now, lets assume that you have been moved to another tabel and all players are completely unknown.
With which hands would you recommend to make Iso-raises?
But I would really like to know the bottom of your range.
I'm making Iso-raises but I'm still unsure whether Im doing it with the right hands.
