KQ, villain is one of the few real fish left.

I think villain has the 88. That would explain the 2 raises of the villain.

This is a nice hand for our hand discussion forum. So I move it to there.

It’s possible. A raise of 120 is with the blind of 80 is 200 in total.

If I see this hand I would fold J5s pre-flop already. J5s isn’t a hand that played too well out of position against an early raise.

On the flop I would always check to the raiser and if I bet I would bet the flop and turn a lot more. I would bet at least 40% pot on every street. As played it makes no sense to shove the turn, because you have top pair weak kicker with a flush draw and I don’t think he will fold top pair or better. So I would call the turn for sure and check/fold on a decent bet on the river.

If I need to guess what he have and I see the other answers I think he can have QT as well that he min raised on the turn, but sets and better top pairs are also hands he can have.

Cheers,

Sorry got my bets a bit wrong, his hand was K♦:T♠:, basically he risked half his stack for a possible straight or pair on the river is this a good risk or was it just a gamble.

That’s an optimistic call of him, but with a fishy player you can expect anything.

Hi SDK1987,
I'm playing a freeroll tonight (I need the practice) so I'll post my losing hand here if that's ok, it starts at 7:30pm

That wasn't so bad in the end, I finished in 130th out of 2325, level 14 blinds 1k/2k, 8 player table.
Hero 9,985 UTG1 KK
Hero raise to 4k
UTG3 all in
BTN all in
(Others fold)
Hero raise to all in
MP3 A9
BTN A9
Hero lost to an ace on the turn, no kings.
I had managed a high of 15k and dropped back to 12k where I missed an opportunity to almost double my stack due to being a bit rusty, I know this beacause it played out to SD and my hand would have won.

That’s unlucky, but I would shove right away with my 5bb stack. Especially in a freeroll you get still plenty of action and you don’t want to finish in a multi way pot with half your stack invested.

That's interesting I'll keep that in mind.

I'd say something dumb like K♦:T♦:, from the way he's written the post its obviously a dumb play from villian that gets a lucky river so sets are definitely out the question

Not to say that hero played his hand particularly well either though

Thats unlucky, expected the 88 as well. In my opinion you really shouldnt have call the preflop raise with those cards though
