I think he shouldn't overbet shove with Qx but he can still sometimes do that.
Call if you want to take a risk.

I think your line is fine to me to call his raise on the flop. The turn is a bad card and it would be weird if he’s doing it as bluff and I would most likely fold the turn on his over bet. I expect most fishy players will do it with a better full house.

Raising on the flop's not the worst idea in sbvsbb spot.

OTF - I was in 2 minds to either reraise and get it in or play it slow to keep his bluffs/ draws 6 smaller pairs in
OTT - I still cant work out what hand he's doing this with, with I can understand a big bet, but why overbet when you have the nuts? I wonder if he had a pair 88-JJ and shoves to protect against flushes, players at this level always bet bigger when a flush draw is out there

I think this is not a spot we should be thinking too much. This kind of play will happen very rarely and villains range can be air or nuts, very difficult to know. I think he shouldn't shove Qx that often but on the other hand shoving with 88-JJ doesn't make much sense either.

Just flip a coin and decide. Or just fold to avoid variance. Then you can just move on and focus on more important spots that will happen more often than once in 100k hands

Thats the conclusion I came to, he's either got the nuts or nothing. I ended up folding

Making or calling oversized bets is always up to ones own judgment. Even asking for population reads is doubtful, since you will usually get conflicting answers and the situation is not that common. People tend to remember the last time they called down. Only.
