I don’t defend to often with a K9s out of position with only a 18bb stack, but as played I would stack of the flop as well with top pair good kicker. I would normal push or fold with a 18bb stack pre-flop and against a weaker player I would still fold.

Are you ITM here? if not how far away from the money were you?

Had you seen him cbet pot before?

I like to defend hands like this as you can often c/shove and get people to fold when you hit a pair, FD or SD. I would stack off on this flop unless you were really suspicious about his pot cbet, say if he always cbet 1/2 then bets pot I would be rather suspicious
