Good luck Dippy!! Crush them ♦
I can see dippy posting here in a few hours with "oh, I won the tourney, got me like 10000€" :).
Ok, so I'm home now, and I decided to write a small report right away, since it's now all still fresh in my memory ![]()
Well, when I came to the casino, I was kind of lost, but I soon found another guy who qualified through the same satellite. We talked for a while and then, since the guy from Party Poker wasn't there yet, went into the casino. I had to pay 5EUR entry fee, since I didn't wait upstairs, like I was told, but ok, it's only ~1BB ![]()
Anyways, we later met up with the other players and went on to the registration desk. Then after a while the tournament started. For a first few hands I was doing good. Kept getting playable cards, kept missing flops and kept taking down pots with c bets
Then at one point I raised AJ from one of the earlier positions and I think I got called by one of the better players, I think he was in BB. Flop came JxJ rainbow, and I just checked, since every time I made a c bet they thought I had a hand. I called a flop bet of about 1/2 and on the turn he made another smallish about 1/3 pot bet. Then he looked at me like he was going to kill me with his sight, and right there it showed that I wasn't a live player. I started laughing ♦ Then I just threw in about 3x his raise and he folded.
Soon after that I got moved to another table. The next memorable hand was me calling 8Ts in the SB after a raise and 2 calls. The BB went in as well. On the flop I got a gutshot and I checked and BB bet, kind of small. Another guy called and I also called with about 1:7 odds, which I found ok, since I kindoff sensed implied odds. I got a double guted draws on the turn and just called again after a (smallish)bet and a call. The river missed me and I folded after a bet and an all in. One of the guys rivered a FH(had a set on the flop) and the other one rivered trips. I was kind of sad that I missed the river, since I could have almost tripled up if I would hit.
After that it more or less went downhill. I had some failed steals, won some small pots etc etc. And I got moved to another table again. Then there was another interesting hand. The guy before me raised and I was holding JJ. Since the guy raised a lot before, I went for a 3-bet. And then a good player that was running hotter than fire 4-bet and had me all in. The other guy folded(he said it was QQ) and I also folded after thinking for a while, since I didn't see him 4-bet anything worst that AK. He was kind enough to show his AA ![]()
Then I was really short and card dead + I just couldn't get first in. Finally I got AA and threw a 1k chip in(blinds ware 150/300). Naturally I forgot to say raise, so it was considered a call(again, obviously, I'm not a live player :P). But I was actually lucky, since the guy to my left raised or went all in, don't really remember... Anyways he flipped over QQ and my AA held up. And then I was card dead again^^
Had some small hands and the blinds grew. Eventually I was pretty short again, and still card dead^^ But I found 77 UTG and pushed. Everyone folded, except the BB, who, after some thinking called with 88. I got no help from the board and I was out in ~25th place(out of 39).
So, I didn't cash in, but I have to say that I had a lot of fun and will hopefully play it again next month if I qualify again.

Well done Dippy, good intro into the live arena and sounds like you had fun.
Hoping you qualify for lots more over time ♦
