Against someone that’s 3betting only 4% on off course a low sample I wouldn’t call with 97s for almost 1/10 of my total stack.

The flop raise seems tricky as well with middle pair and no draw without any reads on our villain. If you are planning to fire again I would most likely bet the turn again. Otherwise it’s tough to represent a big hand I think and you could represent a flush as well.

Cheers,

I agree it's a borderline call preflop. Personally, 97s is not in my standard calling range. It's fine to call if we have an info that villain 3bets more than an average, imo. Not sure about the flop raise. Could be fine because we have all sets and straights in our range so villain could fold some overpairs. The alternative is to call, but we would have to fold almost every Turn (if we are not villing to bluff raise), which sucks. Might also be that this is a protection raise vs overcards. When he calls, I believe he has mostly overpairs and A-high flushdraws, so on that Turn card we might represent a flush by betting and try to make him fold overpairs. As played, I believe only a big River bet (possibly an overbet) could make him fold overpairs.

Look at his 3bet stat, why don't just fold pre-flop

Yeah well the sample is small that's why I wasn't insta folding, also these combos flop pretty well + I find it easier to stack villans on the tighter side with these kind of hands, maybe preflop was indeed a mistake but i'm more interested about the flop. Reasons for raising the flop are: I have a pair + gutshot and I have 6 outs to twopair/trips, my flop equity is 30% when I c/r I put 5.5€ into of what will be 15.8€ pot if he calls therefore I put 34% of the money making my play close to breakeven even if they never fold here and as I will get a free card OTT almost always so I am also realizing my equity almost always. I am making AK or any other brodways that missed fold immediatly and lastly( this one i'm least sure of) I can bluff on scare cards such as the turn. This is my reasoning for this play I put it out there so I can get criticism on what is wrong in this thought process in you're opinion etc. My biggest reason is the bolded part so I am most interested if there are any flaws there?

I'll not speak about preflop, I am a HU player so I let the other tell you that is a mistake ahah

About the flop, if you call these kind of hand preflop, just immagine, AAAALLLLL the other kind of hand you would bluff on this spot ? You should find 32754 hands at least. Then, you HAVE NOT 6 outs, not at all ahah. you cannot count outs on a big pot like that, when these outs could make a better hand to BB ! Str8, flush, and it is without speaking about redraw hands in BB range.

You have 2nd pair, it is already a huge hand. You would bluff hand like J8, 85 75 or QJ maybe some Ax FD etc...

As played, easy check on the river, in this limit, BB doesn't fold a T. And you have a showdown with an important information. Indeed, the sizing flop of BB is pretty bad, so maybe a sizing tell ?

I see you're point and you are right about not being able to count outs that liberaly to an extent and I don't do it as a standard but this is a 3 bet pot vs a tight player in full ring game, so while he can have a flush draw sometimes that's about it if he has TT(which not many people 3 bet at 25NL) he will probably try to get it in OTF, he virtualy never has 8 in his hand here so I feel counting 6 outs here considering we are up against JJ+/KQ+ a very large % of the time isn't unreasonable.

I think 6 outs is quite reasonable. You have 9 outs versus an overpair, and removing 3 of those versus a general range is not too optimistic.

Then Xixi74's way of building bluff ranges has its merits. The first holdings to bluffs to bluff with here (provided in range) are listed in order in Xixi74's post. (FE is huge with 7 high hands:D, while making AK fold when holding a pair of nines isn't a major victory). You risk overbluffing if you bluff here, but I don't hate it. As played, I think you once in a while should fire turn too (or overbet the river to make overpairs fold).

Agree with the call preflop that it is a close one. As played, when semi-bluff flop, we should fire turn as well in such situation IMO because we now want to put pressure on villain as he doesn't want to see any possible straight or flush opportunities for us (unless he has it).
