I've never had any sucess in cash game and didn't cashed big in tournaments but i really enjoy SNG.
What's the best way to climb from 100$ to 1k$ : SNG MTT or cash ? and which room would be the most suited for each format ?

I think this question doesn't have one simple correct answer. I suggest you play that format you enjoy the most 
For me that is cash game. All of those formats are a bit different and with all of them you have a potential to make money.

My experience:
Cash: no time restriction, you can start and finish when you want. I think is a tough game mainly because pos flop situations.
SnG: STT or until 45man is fast and if you play accordingly you can increase your bankroll fast. It's a more mechanical game splited in early, middle, bubble and itm game.
MTT: I don't have too much experience, but, I don't like to stay in a tourney with 500 people (rebuy, later registration) and be playing 5 hours or more.
I like cash game when I play live, because you play with real people with no poker tracker or holdem manager and I can make results.
But tournament I prefer online as with small buy in you can get big wins. in offline poker you should play big buy-ins ($1000 +) to make result. unfortunately i do not have bankroll for that yet
