Preflop: Hero is MP with T♥ K♠ 5♠ K♥
Hero raises to $1.75, CO folds, BTN calls $1.75, SB folds, BB raises to $7.25, Hero calls $5.50, BTN calls $5.50

Turn: ($160.44) 3♣ (3 players, 3 are all-in)
River: ($160.44) 2♦ (3 players, 3 are all-in)

Spoiler

Results: $160.44 pot ($2 rake)
Final Board: 6♣ Q♥ 8♥ 3♣ 2♦
BB showed J♣ Q♠ A♠ 9♣ and lost (-$54.45 net)
Hero showed T♥ K♠ 5♠ K♥ and won $158.44 ($103.99 net)
BTN showed 9♦ J♥ 2♥ 5♦ and lost (-$51.29 net)

BU is a very loose reg with an "interesting" playing style. I think he is winning a lot at this limit - often see him with huge stack.
44/29, 800 hands. 3b 12.7. Ag 1.1

BB unknown. 59/19, 30 hands, 3b 14.3.

So I think my line doesn't need much discussion, but I want to understand BU's play here (hence including spoiler results) which looks to me very thin, preflop but especially postflop. What range should he put me on here where his calloff is making money?

Thanks

BTN is far from being a winning player imo he's probably just a maniac and in plo people who have the biggest stacks usually are maniacs cuz they play so many hands and if they catch a streak they can get a lot of money quickly but they also lose it even faster:) Not to say there aren't good loose players, Joey Ingram for example is like 35/25 as I've seen in some vids but going over 40vipip I wouldn't know about anyone plus if you're so good to make money playing 40vpip why not go higher .. so my guess BTN didn't think at all in this hand about anything.

You'll have to take my word for it that he's playing 8 tables plus of plo 50 and has been for a while. Its possible he's losing but it's rather unusual to see fish doing this.

I mean it could be. I have a freind that used to be one of the best poker players in the world in the old days, you can still read about it if you google ljubljana conspiracy, from time to time he deposits and plays plo100 just for fun while drinking and he's the type of guy that plays 9+ tables and plays like 60% of hands so maybe it's actually him lol u should check which country he's from hah ... so I guess he could actually be some of this type of guys that somehow actually are winning

Hi, you say your line doesnt need much discussion but I think it does :f_biggrin:
Shoving HU gives a alot of FEq, but 3 way I think its better to call and invite in weaker draws from BU. Also the fact that this guy Cbets 3way possibly means he has a strong draw that hes not folding. So all things considered I prefer call flop.
Thoughts?

^^ Fair enough. Calling should also be good. I'm probably a bit too keen to get the money in when I'm happy about my equity, rather than thinking about what is the best line - thanks for your thoughts. I agree that we don't have much feq here but when our equity is so good (only in bad shape vs AA with nfd, I guess) is that a big issue?

If you havent yet, try calculating in equilab your net equity HU all-in and compare it with 2 calls to the turn. Also try giving the BTN a little stronger range to make sure.

Please if you do, post some results. Im too lazy to check it for myself _cool:

So, nsavov, I put in our hand vs range of Q+, AA and nfd on this board:

http://www.pokerstrategy.com
Board: 6cQh8h
Equity Wins Ties
MP3: Preflop 63.75% 63.57% 0.18% { KhThKs5s }
Flop 56.12% 56.05% 0.07%
Turn 56.12% 56.05% 0.07%
River 56.12% 56.05% 0.07%
BB: Preflop 36.25% 36.07% 0.18% { Ah*h, Q***, AA }
Flop 43.88% 43.80% 0.07%
Turn 43.88% 43.80% 0.07%
River 43.88% 43.80% 0.07%

If instead we just call and allow BU to just call (with something like this range} {Q*h*h, 789T, 9TJQ } then we get:

http://www.pokerstrategy.com
Board: 6cQh8h
Equity Wins Ties
MP3: Preflop 47.77% 47.61% 0.16% { KhThKs5s }
Flop 38.76% 38.72% 0.05%
Turn 38.76% 38.72% 0.05%
River 38.76% 38.72% 0.05%
BU: Preflop 23.89% 23.14% 0.74% { Q*h*h, 789T, 9TJQ }
Flop 32.03% 30.92% 1.12%
Turn 32.03% 30.92% 1.12%
River 32.03% 30.92% 1.12%
BB: Preflop 28.34% 27.51% 0.84% { Ah*h, Q***, AA }
Flop 29.20% 28.04% 1.16%
Turn 29.20% 28.04% 1.16%
River 29.20% 28.04% 1.16%

If this isn't what you meant, can you let me know?
Thanks

Oh, wow! I didnt expect to be 56% HU. I was thinking we are being a small underdog.
I guess shoving is better then. Nice hand! :f_thumbsup:

45/30 and stacking off there with pair+gutshot is not winning poker in the long run. 800 hands is still such a small sample that couple of setups (especially) deep affect a lot. If his winrate is 10b/100, his EV with 800 hands is $40. So you see that one setup $100 deep can be the difference between losing and winning player in your database. And there is of course the difference between winnings and EV winnings.

That reg is just aggro, and usually aggros have the biggest stacks at some point. But overall he isn't making a ton of money. At least not with that flop call. Would be interesting to see how weak your and BB ranges need to be that he gets the odds for calling.
