Thanks Sven, just added you on skype
Update comming on wednesday, so far its going pretty decent, just not a lot of time for poker these days.
Was part of double2s coaching today. It was a lot of fun and I learned a lot about my game. For sure have some stuff I need to focus on the next weeks when I play to fix those leaks.
@Anomic
Thanks for the tip, I decided not to play it after all as you suggested.
For my challenge its going decent so far. Im closing in on platinium status on stars and keep booking profits so thats all good.

This is March so far, I think its the biggest profit I've ever had in a single month. Volume is a little low since I have an exam on March 31st so wont play much at the end of the month.
He Damlqv,
I saw your weekly update - with a nice big plus. Buuut - where are the hands, graphs and nice reads/stories here?
Greetings,

Hey Guys.
It's actually been about a year since my last update. A lot has happened since that, my girlfriend moved to germany shortly after last update and 9 months later (December) we broke up.
I got a job at the local casino as a poker dealer last year and in september I lost a friend from there. That made me realize how far gone I was and that I was not enjoying life at all. A few weeks later I went to therapy and started medical treatment for depression. In january my sister managed to find a therapist who specialize in grief councelling.
For this reason I took 4 months off where I barely logged into my poker account, I started playing more consistent 2 weeks ago.
I'm close to graduating, but because of the new treatment I didnt try to complete my exam this winter and have to wait till december for an other try. Meanwhile the only other thing I have is my final project, but for now I focus on the process of the therapy.
Low volume so far this year, but results ar good and I feel confident at the tables
Still avoiding pushing my self too hard.

He Damlqv,
thx for this honest update.
I wish you further good luck at the tables - it seems to be running well. Of course, if needed, I am happy to transfer the wishes for GL to your real life off the tables. All the best!
Thanks Sven
It's very nice to run hot on my return to poker.
Off the tables I need to do a lot of hard work but at least it feels like Im on the right track now. It's kinda wierd, I've felt lost so long I didnt even realize how bad it was. The last few months I have progressed a lot but I still have a lot of work to do.
He Damlqv,
thx for joining our Microstakes challenge - the first 40.000 hands after 20.3. count towards the challenge, good luck!
Gooo Vegas!

Hey guys. Its been almost 1½ years since I last posted here. As title says I have been fighting depression and I am doing quite well now. More on that later on.
I have been to Mexico twice this year, enjoying visiting friends and spend some time with my former girlfriends family. Have not played much poker for more than a year now, just got back into it since I got home in beginning of September. Its going well though, up a few buy ins. I still work in the casino as a dealer but I will return to my studies from mid October and work very little from that point until Christmas.
I am also looking for an other job, being a dealer is fine but I really want to get into economics/finance.
Since Im playing mostly at unibet I cant show a lot of hands and no graph, will post something later on when I have time to piece it together.
Thanks Matt ![]()
I dont know how many of you here have experience with depression yourself, but chances are you know someone who does.
For me, I didnt know I had depression for many years. It wasnt until my girlfriend died that the problems escalated to a point where I couldnt muddle through it any more.
From the afternoon I learn my girlfriend had passed I though about taking my own life, this was not only cause by depression but also the pain and grief that followed the loss. I chose not to follow through on those feelings. I knew that at some point it would get better, I had no idea it would take me more than 4 years to shake those thoughts and feelings.
Depression is not only about suicide thoughts. While in a depression you can come to fear tomorrow more than anything else. Today is horrible, yesterday was horrible, so was the day before and the day before that, a good day seem like a distant past you can barely remember. The thought of facing yet an other day in this hell can come to scare you more than death. I guess that is one of the major reasons some people with depression chose to end the cycle.
I remember days where I couldnt bring myself to go to sleep, I would stay awake for maybe 40 hours, because sleeping would put me in the position where I had to wake up again and it seemed easier to avoid sleep altogether.
When you lose someone you love, society seem to be understanding in the beginning. But that understanding has an early expiration date, its been a few months already, you gotta feel alright now right?
Most of the time people can go back to their lives after losing a loved one after relative short time, not because they feel okay but because the grief isnt crippling them any more. When your loss triggers a depression you will meet a lot of people who are utterly incapable of understanding your situation. Not because they are bad people, but for some reason they just cant understand it so they will think that you are the problem and you should just "snap out of it".
Facing this attitude from strangers is tough, facing it from people you care about is devastating. Anyone still reading this probably dont fall in this category. In case you do, I can tell you from experience, if a friend of yours come up to tell you that he thinks he has a depression and he feels kinda bad, you should hear "I feel like shit and I though about killing myself last night. And that was not the first time".
Enough on this topic for now. If you are reading and have questions Ill be happy to answer. Either reply here or you can send a pm if you prefer that ![]()
Next post will either be on economics or poker, havent decided yet.
Trump is trying to revamp the American tax system. His goal is to lower taxes and argues that it will spark economic growth as a result. This assumption is based in economic theory saying that lower income taxes and corporate taxes will increase consumer spending and corporate investment. While this is true, the effect of tax cuts is minimal and will in no way result in any significant economic growth, the result will be an increased wealth gab and larger annual deficit for the US treasury.
How can I be sure of that? A poll taken among CEOs of large corporations in the US showed that most companies, in case of a tax cut, would not at all, or only a little, use it it grow the company. The money would instead be used for share buy back and as return to investors. This would lead to an even more inflated stock marked, resulting in an even bigger crash than we can expect already. As I see it, we are in for an other 2008 all over again. It is a different trigger this time around, most likely it will come in form of extremely low liquidity in the market, everyone will want to exit at the same time, but by then it will be too late, there will be no buyers in the market.
How did we get to this point when we saw what happened 9 years ago? Prior to 2007, the US housing market had never gone down year over year (I am not 100% certain on this, but it did not go down any year from 1975 to 2007). Regional decline happened as the economy changed over the years but nation wide the housing marked was as solid as it came. Then someone came up with an idea to abuse this market, for more in debt explanation The Big Short describe it pretty well. Was this illegal? Not directly, but the hoops they went through to maximize profit was, yet no one has been held accountable for anything, even worse, most people who should understand the consequences had no idea how this would impact the economy.
At this time a European high yield bond pay less than 2% interest, (US treasury pays around 2%, that is more than the high risk bonds) in 2009 they paid 25%+. This is one of the effects of the ECB, FED and other big central banks bond buying programs, also called Quantitative Easing combined with their close to 0% interest rate.
Some of you might remember the panic in the last financial crisis. I did not understand anything about economics back then but I do remember hearing that no one could have foreseen what was happening. You will likely hear this again within a year or so, sadly it is not true. The economy in many countries are heading for the perfect storm, everything from baby boomers going on pension, the Euro and to wrong policies from central banks and politicians, not only the ones who are in power not but also the politicians and economists who were in the past decades. This has all contributed to the situation we are in now. Combined with technology developing at an accelerated pace and the fundamental problem with governments not able to adapt to new information and situations will lead to a time of crisis that will last for years, if not decades.
This all sound very dark and gloomy, there will come a time where our society will be better off and people will have better lives because of the changes that is coming. It will not help the people who get caught in the crossfire, and I don't see politicians being of any help either, they have isolated them selves from the public they are supposed to lead and lead only to benefit the elite part of the society they now identify with.
I ask of you all to keep this in mind when you listen to any politician, be critical and do not accept policies that will benefit you if the cost come from those less fortunate. If governed better we do have a chance to not dig all of us too deep a hole. Whether you realize it or not, the society you live in relies on those in the lower end of society.
If you have any comments or questions I'd like to hear them. I did skip over some topics to not make the post too long. Also if you disagree counter arguments would be great to read.
A poll taken among CEOs of large corporations in the US showed that most companies, in case of a tax cut, would not at all, or only a little, use it it grow the company.
First many of them already pay less than 20% percent.
Second if they had investment opportunities they should already have invested the money because investments are deductible from taxes.
Third, investors don't want CEOs to spent money on CEOs dream projects. They want their money back. One dollar more in the company doesn't add to one dollar more in the company value. But one dollar in the pockets is one dollar in the pockets.
that's why
The money would instead be used for share buy back and as return to investors.
But if the investors think one dollar is more worth they keep their stocks and increase their investment compared to the others.
It is a different trigger this time around, most likely it will come in form of extremely low liquidity in the market, everyone will want to exit at the same time, but by then it will be too late, there will be no buyers in the market.
Don't understand that. Giving back the money they saved (because spending less on taxes) doesn't have an influence on the value of the company and it's future prospect. Just the amount of shares. It gives investors even the possibilities to invest in different stocks.
To add two more thoughts.
A lower corporate taxes leads to to a higher capital gain tax (volume not basis points).
The proposal isn't only lowering taxes it also includes eliminating deductions and exemptions.
Just to play devil's advocate. Didn't read too much about it to have an opinion but still wanted to share my take about some technical aspects.
This is all nicely said and probably even true, but it lacks the most important part - what is to be done to ensure we all have a chance to live and evolve ? I frankly, do not see any chance for positive change and my prognosis is that will be all wiped out in the next 20 to 30 years when Americans try to press their "advantage" beyond the point of reason.
